So I was doing a grocery run when I happened by a store clerk with a golden barbell piercing in the ear. I'd never seen one of these before in gold, and thought it looked pretty slick. I have snake bites at the moment, and may look into the aforementioned for the future, to add to the collection.

Have you guys encountered many of those before, the golden barbells?

When you say "Barbell", you mean one of these? Never thought of thosei n gold, but yeah I suppose it could be cool looking. I've been threatening to get an industrial for mooooonths now. I'll just get it done one day on the way home from college

Cost me €45 to have my tongue done. Doesn't hurt a bit, but the aftercare is a pain in the hole No solid foods for roughly 2 weeks. I say roughly because it depends on how fast you heal. I was eating sandwiches again 2 days after (albeit with a little bit of discomfort). You have to wash your mouth out twice a day with a Boiled water and sea salt solution, and every time after you eat. You can't drink or smoke. Two of my friends had to take theirs out because they thought they'd be mad and drink afterwards, only to have it swell up to the size of a golf ball in their mouth.

Just be sure you know what you're getting yourself into before you do it, otherwise it could get nasty. An infection in your tongue is not a pretty thing.

I'd trust a place that did $15 piercings about as far as I could throw 'em.

Average price for a reputable shop should be in the $40-$50 range, and know your shit. You want surgical-grade steel or titanium jewelry. You want needles, no guns. Clean working environment. Always wear gloves, preferably even change them with just about each procedure of the process.

I got my nostril done last night. Pinched for a lot longer than I expected; I guess I didn't realize the skin was so thick.
Loop looks good and I'm really eager for the healing period to be over with so I can get it tightened to a nice flush fit (it's got a little room right now for swelling, but it's still subtle.

Got a lot of compliments on it at work today. I'm pretty pleased, but the dynamics of blowing my nose have forever changed.
