discussion Braces- cool or not

Everyone keeps talking about how fashionable braces are so when I found out that I needed them I thought that I would be so popular but I'm not any more noticed than I was before. Are braces really fashionable? Is it just because I have temps (temporaries)? I'm confused please help...

Ther not cool and you got metal in mouth which is also pretty nasty.

Oh I never realised they were so "uncool" because all the popular kids in my school are all saying "oh I wanna get braces. They look so cool." mabye they are just cool were I come from...

I don't see anything wrong with the way they look....

What's funny though is at my school, you look weird if you don't have them. The orthodontists where I live are making so much money, but I hate them all.

personally, i dont think they look bad. some people can carry them off really well.
i hafta haff braces!
im going to die. the only part im scared of is haffing them put in/tightened. i am so scared of the dentists. i actually scream.

When I was younger, I wanted braces because everyone else had them. My teeth are just about perfect, though, so I couldn't get them. And naturally, most people who had braces wanted my teeth, so...

In retrospect, I'm really, really glad I never had to get them-- either the full-on ones you have to have for years, or the temporary ones. They sound really painful...

Now, I can't say that I find them fashionable. Most people don't look good with them, but, like lollipopz said, some people can wear them well.
