So, I've been having some issues getting my PS3 online. I've had the system since last year and have taken it online at friends' houses before, but could never do so at my own home since satellite was the only internet available to me. Now, however, I have recently moved into an off-campus apartment for the school I attend and just had DSL through the University installed yesterday. I took my computers online with no problems one at a time through the modem, and picked up a Linksys WRT160N router before I had the chance to try connecting my PS3. However, of course, once I got all my computers online and attempted to connect my PS3, I couldn't. After fiddling around with my router a bit, trying both wireless and wired connections, I tried running an ethernet cable from the PS3 straight into the modem, but even that didn't work. When I test the connection, the PS3 will acquire the IP address, but fail to connection to the internet.

So... Any ideas would be much appreciated, as I'm fresh out at this point.

You should have access to your router's setup and configuration. Use Internet Explorer NOT Firefox to program your router. Click this link and follow the instructions. Let us know if this works or not.

EDIT: Give your PS3 a static IP address and enter the address into the box below "DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!"

My ps3 broke

Hi, I tried but failed to connect my PS3 with an ethernet cable, so I got a wireless router (Netgear). Can anyone tell me how to set the router up and connect to my PS3?

Since I couldn't find another place I will ask here.

I live in Japan atm and while I'm studying the language and try to merge myself with the culture my reading and writing skills are still pretty low.

The thing is that I bought a ps3 here(since is region free) and I'm ordering the games from playasia.com but when I was trying to register myself to the playstation network of course I choose English as the preferred language but the playstation force me to register an American address >.<; then, when I try to register my Japanese address the options force me to leave the settings in Japanese D:.

Now I understand that this isn't a common issue neither it affect most of the players, but why I cannot register a Japanese address and leave the settings in English!!?? that just doesn't make any sense.

Anyway now that I threw up the frustration, let me ask you, is there any way to register my Japanese address but leave English as default language? or will I need to register an American address that obviously I'm not living in, to be able to read through the playstation network?, and another question, does the address have any impact in the use of the network? I mean is there delivery or charge based on your address information, does it need to match your credit card address?

For some reason, I keep getting a PSN error and keep getting signed out. It's only started happening in the last week too. Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be?

I can get on the Network and Internet and all that but when ever I try to access my files from other networks in my house I get "DLNA protocol error 7531". What can I do about this?

No I mean the media server, accessing files from my PC from my PS3, pics vids and whatnot

I seem to have a problem with the online PS3 features.
This is a wierd one and would like a little help if available.

For the past three days roughly I have been playing Need For Speed undercover. When I achieve a goal it gets uploaded to the website . I managed to play online in a couple of games.

I also play Mortal Kombat vs DC, sweet game. I succesfully managed to play 4 or 5 games. Yet when i tried earlier today both games don't seem to allow me to play online, my internet browser and Playstation store DO work, its just I can't play online against people, on MK for example, it lets me play 5 or 6 seconds before saying its unavailable.

Earlier I noticed a message saying DNS Error, not sure what it is.
Help would be extremely appreciated.
