killzone's story alone is great for a FPS, just that beats halo not to meantion the weapons from killzone are better, and the enemys aren't little 2 foot high balls.

Why must every FPS on a Sony console be compared to Halo?

Yeah it was pretty over-rated and I never did get Live for the original Xbox, too occupied with my PS2 after completing Halo 2.

quote guticbI completely agree. Halo's fun, but not amazing by any strech of the imagination. We all know Red Steel > any other shooter ever *looks around* *runs and hides* ------------------- Guestbook{}USA forum!{}Skateboarding

re: Phil Harrison: The Future is Now |
quote guticbIt doesn't have to be great...What it is though is Microsoft's top Game, matter of fact, it is the most sold game on the Xbox, by a few million I believe....Just because It is not great on one level, doesn't mean it isn't great period...Games like Halo are few and far between, to build up almost a cult like following that is somewhat bigger than the system itself is a true feet that was accomplished by Microsoft... The reason most games are compared to it is because most games want to have the following that halo has, anything with the halo name is almost guaranteed to be a best seller...that is what the developers and Sony is striving for, that one title that is able to rake in millions of sales, and get that cult like following for games to come ------------------- ![]()

Why is this thread bashing Halo? Halo in general has a great story line that can be followed on Many types of media but you don't need to read or watch all the medias to understand the story. As for Killzone yes its an amazing game and I'm crazy excited for Killzone2 and Halo3. There is no need to bash other games especially games that have massive selling numbers to back it up.

a true feet haha
I don't think Sony is striving to have a 'Halo' in their bag. Halo is a very popular title, actually the fact that Phil Harrison even spoke of the game in the interview is a testament to its name, but at the same time, Sony has built their own empire long before Halo was even known. Aside from that, I admire the confidence Sony's execs have shown through the negativity they have received. Its always very easy to pick out the impurities of anything, instead of praising the good side. I'm anxious to see what this system can do, once its aged a little more, especially after we get to see how Killzone turns out. ------------------- ![]()

I think the first halo for the original xbox has better vehicles than Resistance Fall of Man... Other than the vehicles, I was not too impressed with halo.

quote twilightprinceYou're asking the wrong question. It's not about Sony. Why must every FPS be compared to Halo? They act like it invented the *bleep*ing genre, when really, it's one of the most mediocre FPS's ever created.

re: Phil Harrison: The Future is Now |
quote volacideMy favourite FPS was Golden Eye for the N64, however that is incomparable to any of the current games out there. However Halo was popular enough that if you didn't own an xbox, you stilled played on your friend's copy. Thus a lot of people can relate to it. Hopefully people will starting comparing RFOM with other future PS3 FPSs, because the majority of PS3 owners have RFOM and can now relate back to it (btw RFOM is a medicore FPS too).
