PS3 Prices and Release Dates Announced!

Well, the moment we have all been waiting for:

Sony's E3 Press Conference today has revealed the prices of the PS3, as well as the launch dates.

First up, there are two prices set. The cheapest will come with a 20 GB hard drive, and cost $499 USD (499 Euro and 549 Canadian). The more expensive one will include a 60 GB hard drive, and will cost $599 USD (599 Euro and 659 Canadian).


The system will launch in Japan first (of course) on November 11th, followed by America, Europe, and Australia on November 17th. Just six days apart.

Sony's price is very competive, and cheaper than even I expected. Thumbs up to them. And of course, the controller redesign is flawless. I'm glad they didn't go with the boomerang.

The boomerang woulda been fine with me really...unless "MadCatz" or any other crappy company pays for the copyrights of it and start making faulty boomerangs all around

Now I'm even more pissed. Ken Kutaragi, current head of Sony Computer Entertainment (or SCE), thinks the the new console is priced "too cheap".

I'm sorry, but what kind of bullshit is he trying to pull?

Okay so im confused, he said those prices for the US version, will they do what Microsoft did and rip us off and actually charge us £100-£200 more than the US or will it actually only be around £300 for us?

Well I just want to know if I will get screwed in the long run for buying the 500 doller one. I dont want to end up in like a year or two speanding sop much money just to play some of the new stuff.
