Here's some more interesting news related to the Metal Gear Solid movie produced by Avi Arad announced a few weeks ago. It has now been confirmed that the movie will indeed star Solid Snake, not Big Boss, as the main protagonist. Hideo Kojima, who is serving in an advisory role for the film, said today that at one point he and Arad considered Hugh Jackman for the role, but have since decided to cast an unknown actor who can make a name for themselves with the film.

Seeing as the first Metal Gear Solid game was indeed focused on Solid Snake, rather than Big Boss, it makes sense to start a film franchise in a similar manner. Hold on there, Big Boss fanatics, I'm not saying Big Boss's story isn't an overall better one, I'm saying it's that much better because it works so well as a spin-off from Solid Snake's story. 

Plus, the Shadow Moses arc is perfect for a movie, don't you agree? Action hero Snake, kick-ass sexy damsel Meryl, and a whole slew of interesting villains to kill: Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Vulcan Raven and Psycho Mantis. It's designed to be a summer blockbuster... the sequels? Eh, not so much. Also, good move with the ixnay on the Hugh Jackman-ay. Sure, he's got the Solid Snake growl, but for god's sake he'd just be Wolverine with a bandanna.
