General Discussion XXIII: The Prequel to your Sequel - Page 3

So in the Steam Summer Sale(Of which its the last day of it today), the community can vote for 1 of 3 games to be put on sale. Right now the options are Mirrors Edge, Just Cause 2, and L.A Noire. All would be 75% off if voted, and the prices would be about £1.60, £2.10 and £2.50 respectively. Personally i voted for Just Cause 2, but which would you guys have voted for?

I've only played ME for literally 5 minutes and LA NOire for 5 minutes, never touched JC2 but out of the 3 i'd prefer the one i haven't actually played. Open world, weapons, carnage. parachute. My kinda game.

Cant help but feel ME will wint it thoiugh.

Just Cause won it at 38% of the votes, Mirrors Edge got 32% and La Noire got 30%

EDIT: Turns out that JC2 will be £3.49. Not much more but oh well. Got £3.63 left in the bank and the sales end today. Ya never know, i might yet pick up another. Options now are GTA4, Fallout NV and Alan Wake, 2 of which i have and the other i have no interest in.

I kind of feel like a con man after what I did to Gamestop (and my wife) today.
As some of you may know my old PS3 had trouble reading discs. It worked probably 1 out of 10 times. On friday my wife went to visit her sister in Dublin which meant I was home alone for the weekend. By pure dumb luck on friday night my job gave me a 150 euro voucher for 10 years service to the company. So I got a new PS3 on saturday from Gamestop for 300. Had to add 150 to it myself. So this meant I had 2 PS3s in my house and my wife still completely oblivious that I bought a new PS3. So I had to get rid of that old PS3 somehow. I couldn't trade it into Gamestop as they knew that it was broken because I told them that on Saturday so I was stuck with... or so I thought.
I was on Facebook yesterday and I have 2 of the people that work at Gamestop on my friend list on FB. The girl that served me on saturday was bragging that she was going on holiday today. So I seized the opportunity. Packed up my old PS3 into its own box and went to Gamestop today. Sure enough there was a different person behind the counter. I asked how much I'd get for a 250GB PS3 and he said either 140 euros store credit or 80 euros cash. So I handed him over my PS3 and to my shock he said he had to test it first. So I stood behind him as he connected it to his screen behind the counter. Then held my breath as he popped a game into the PS3. The load icon popped up in the corner for a few seconds and then the disc icon appeared. He then pressed X on the icon and I was convinced the error was gonna pop up. But nope. It loaded the game instantly and he was happy it was a fully functioning PS3. I got 140 euros store credit and no one is any the wiser.
Felt good walking out of that store knowing that they bought a broken PS3 from me.
I just feel sorry for whoever buys that PS3.

Bored shitless. Ended up watching Hakoom' livestream for a bit. He's playing Rainbow Moon. Looks terrible.

It's a strange game. It doesn't really require much thought, but it's oddly addictive. I play it whilst I watch TV, mindless fun. I really like the art style and the weird translations, I'm currently questing for somebody's "mojo".
