Error 80010514

That's the problem I had with my 60GB.Whatever the cause/problem is, it's only to do with the blu-ray portion of the PS3. I can play everything but bd's on my old 60GB.

The restore feature/option doesn't fix the problem. The only fixable problem I can think of is a dirty blu-ray laser.

Or maybe replacing the blu-ray drive.

I don't think it's a bluray lens problem though. I did a File Restore a few times and everytime I do it it tells my HDD is corrupted

No it's all games. Although I have noticed that newer games are more problematic. Starhawk completely refuses to play for example no matter how much I re-insert it.
Although I have noticed that FPS games are the worst for it. Medal Of Honor, Blops and MW3 take ages till they work whereas the MGS Collection usually works straight away.
Could just be a coincidence of course but it's odd.

DarshD I thought my lens was *bleep*ed (have a thread here about it a page or two back) and intended paying a shit load getting a replacement. I bought a Blu-ray lens cleaner for $9.50 and it's worked perfectly since.

Hmm, yeah, he should try that too, before doing a complete System Restore. The disc cleaners are somewhat expensive but worth it. I had one for my DVD players and PS2. Really helps them alot.
