Best/worst ideas for video games - Page 2

I don't think the story for dead rising 2 was that bad, at least the main story. It was your usual "trapped in hell" kind of stuff. And as far as escort missions go, I think this game is an example of a situation were they make sense and are not completely terrible. I think a worst idea is the defend type of mission (hold this place while I open the door, it takes me 3 minutes) and these kind of mission has it's uses where it may seem logical to place them too (like defending the jail in infamous).

Every part of Vanquish's gameplay mechanics. On a normal level they're just above average, but with the difficulty/scenario amped up, you can see how well crafted they are.

Dark Void's concept of vertical fighting and flight gameplay, i really enjoyed the game for this reason but quite a few other areas were lacking.

Mirrors Edge's parkour.

Shit like Monopoly is always a bad idea for a PLAYSTATION 3 game. Especially when you charge full price for it

Dead Island was a good idea for a game. The game itself is okay, it certainly isn't amazing but the whole idea is there and at a time where there's a lack of any decent horror games.

LittleBigPlanet is a great idea, very creative and completely unique and different.

StarHawk also gets a mention for being so unique and pulling it off so well at the same time. There isn't any other game which is a shooter and with such great flying gameplay, not to mention the ability to build stuff wherever you want.

Rock Band is a brilliant idea

Red Dead Redemption is too. A western style GTA? I'm sold just at the thought of it.

Pretty much. It takes a standard cover based third person shooter and injects speed into its veins. Loved every minute of the gameplay. I really wished that it was longer - if not because it was that much fun, then to make the story better at least.
