At the end of my second Dark Souls playthrough, need another 1 and a half for the Knight's Honour trophy.
Anyone who's in the SL 160-180 (139 atm) ranges (I'd say when I get this trophy I'll be around there), I'd be more than happy to drop the weps for anyone to pick up on here so they can get the trophy the easy way. (Provided of course they give them back )
Still really loving the game, got all sorceries yesterday and my next playthrough should mop up all Miracles and Pyromancies, all upgrade paths as well assuming I can farm the slabs without having to resort to getting them in loot for NG+++.
Dragon's Dogma... Played the demo -> pre-ordered immediately.
High praise, high praise.
From videos it looked incredibly repetitive to me, every boss looked like you just jump on it to win. I'll be playing the demo later tonight though probably, Markimus_123 has been trying to sell it to me for a while.
And *bleep* yes for Max Payne, I haven't played that game since I was....7 or 8? Should be great fun.
Thanks DarshD, I'm going fine so far. Don't know if I'll be platting, maybe one day but for now I'm sure if it's "plat worthy".
I am enjoying it though, I've always thought the semi open world hack and slash genre is a bit empty and needing more entries. It's the reason I've always liked the Ninja Gaiden games as well, it's a shame the new one was dumbed down to a vanilla H&Ser though.
Aye I'll help, I got it one of the first attempts with a mate. But since then when I've helped anyone it takes dozens of attempts, it's a *bleep*er of a trophy.
Oh and redneonfish I forgot to reply, I agree it is rather simple. Just very time consuming, especially seeing as it needs 3 playthroughs through NG+ of the same character. Not to mention farming times for the weapon upgrade paths. Patch 1.05 certainly made that easier in some parts though, apparently still a 7.5 in difficulty if the majority of trophy sites are anything to go off though. So I'm relatively proud.
Chad, I remember a similar problem when I was going for that trophy, haha. But the online community is still quite active, my suggestion would be to get all the single player trophies out of the way. Then keep an eye on the "rockstar news", they've been having XP multiplier weekends quite often recently, and the level 50 trophy is the most annoying one. The Team and Free for All trophies are quite easily done in public, and if you have trouble then you can always look for a boosting session online.
I have no idea what the trophy requires but would the chatroom not suffice?
Not really, the "Ninjas" trophy you might be able to get away with it. But Bullseye requires an over the mic countdown for every group you encounter. Pretty much ideal to shoot at exactly the same time.
Everything but 40 or so treasures is done in Uncharted 3, I'm taking a little break now. Gonna play the Spec Ops: The Line demo in a bit. Might be up for the grind later tonight.
4 Aces First one, I'd held off getting it. Borrowed it off a mate a couple years ago and really didn't like the combat so wiped it from my mind for a while. Still a good game though, and got a really good deal because 2 was coming out.
Not much to say for me, did another ME2 playthrough for ME3. Which also meant I finally finished the damn game on PS3, I still like it and I'm looking forward to 3. But I have voiced on here before that I was less than pleased with 2 back in the day. Compared to the original.
I also have just been playing MP3 for most of my Saturday, currently on the last chapter and holy shit... it would have to be up there for favourite shooters, I'll probably finish it tonight then hammer multiplayer for the coming weeks.
Anyone feeling like a shooter can't pass this game up, for a TPS I think it probably has the best gameplay this gen. And the story is easily accessible for newbies to the series, and really really good I might add. Certainly has some pretty heavy themes though in the second half... I'm fine with violence and gore and such but I was starting to question if they went too far in parts...
Played 3 hours of MP and haven't dropped connection or not been able to find a game.
The entire attraction to the game for me was how smooth it appeared to play, and I wasn't disappointed.
Yeah that's true, but with the fast pacing gameplay I find it works quite well.
The shotgun is pretty crap at anything but point blank so I dunno where you heard that
Haven't had anything like that happen yet.
Haven't had any issues myself, the weight control emphasis on custom classes usually restricts you to 2 guns anyway. Unless you want to walk like a fat arse.
One of my biggest praises to the multiplayer is the soundtrack well the matches is going on, really sets a good mood. And Max narrating the match is really awesome. I did get some sound issues in singleplayer though.
So, I dunno where you heard all that but as of so far that's all pretty much bullshit lol. Obviously the control thing is a preference issue but if you'd rearched the game at all you'd know they used multiple physics engines to make sure the game felt amazing, and imo it does. Definitely suggest the game for both the singleplayer and multiplayer, I think I'm gonna have fun platting this one
After 9 hours gametime on MP I stand by what I said, no technical issues at all. And the MP is brilliantly designed, the weapon balancing is a thing of beauty.
I must be the only one that absolutely despised it.
The gameplay felt clunky and disorganised. I did at first like the cover system, but in the second part of the demo I found my PC not taking cover when I pressed the button. And vaulting glitched on me at one point where I was stuck inside the cover and had to reload the checkpoint.
There was no "Meat", to the shooting mechanics. It felt like I was shooting BBs at a piece of paper.
The banter and personalities of the marines was funny enough, but that card for character development has been played a million times over.
Nolan North's voice was horrible in this, I dunno if he had a Flu or what but his character constantly sounded like Drake if he had lung cancer.
The melee was fun at first, then I realised there were only 3 or 4 animations.
I won't keep ranting lest I sound like Aeirou. A few of these things could obviously be demo issues, but even still it left a bad taste in my mouth. And personally I thought it looked crap visually, the character models and environment textures looked like a PS3 release title.
All in all I almost felt like I'd used a time machine and was playing Kane & Lynch again...
Personally, I think everybody should just play Half-Life. I haven't been trophy hunting in ages, and it's good to play a well-crafted and enjoyable game for a change. Best FPS ever.
Amen.
51% on Max Payne 3, I stick to it being a very fun platinum because the game is so absolutely amazing. But I must admit it's a drag that you have to play through every difficulty bar easy for the plat. Because each previous difficulty unlocks the next, I'm currently up to chapter 4 on Hard, but already easily a hundred deaths. Even though I'm pretty good at the game imo. I shudder to think what hardcore will be like, let alone old school
This game actually makes me think Demon's/Dark Souls funnily enough, it's like a shooter version of a Souls game because it effectively says "learn to play or *bleep* off".
I think it's because the game has an old school health system, the regenerating health in say, Uncharted makes those games a breeze tbh. Anyway, good luck with it Pauliepoos =D
I love this game more and more as I play it. I think it ties with MGS3 for favourite TPS of all time now.
Well, playing on Hard seems to have improved my game tenfold. Not only did I finally beat Chapter 3 NYM. But I beat it with a time of 3:04, a platinum medal... and world 23 ranking
I'm chuffed, no idea how I suddenly went from failing a dozen times to getting world #23. This game really does teach you how to play through experience, it's amazing.
I get what you mean though Exi, I didn't really get bullet time down til well over halfway through the game. So I pretty much played the game like Uncharted til around chapter 9 or 10. As for the originals, I didn't really have that much trouble with MP2 in the day. But MP1 took me months to finish, that could be because I was young though.
The general consensus on the net is MP3 is the hardest anyway though, so I'm pretty sure your opinion isn't a minority.
It's a fully customizable clan of sorts, and you get more XP for playing with people in your crew. It's quite nifty, when I get a working computer again I'll do some cosmetic work for our little crew on the site.
Just had some fun games with Pauliepoos, shit luck with teams though but I got a brilliant headshot on an assassination target that won us a round with a sniper I picked up. Paulie killed me a few times as well so that would have net him a trophy.
I got to level 20 as well, which is a pretty "big" level as it unlocks a good half the gear in the game. Slowly getting towards 50.
I don't actually look at trophy sites tbh, at least not that much. same as reviews. I like to achieve things myself as much as possible, and form my own opinions. I'm not belittling people that do though, everyone has their preference. Thanks for telling me/us, saved me a lot of time and frustration.
So I've decided to take a break from MP3 single player, as I was starting to burn out on it. I'll still play multiplayer, especially if any fellow seekers want to crew up. But I've been in an RPG mood, and seeing as I have literally 100% Skyrim (Yes, it's possible.) I'm gonna go back to good 'ol Dark Souls.
I got some bad news this morning anyway, so I doubt I'll have the focus to trophy hunt at the moment. Friends need my support. Sad business.
I'd probably say JC2 as well, although the controls are incredibly wonky and clunky. But once you get use to them it's very fun. MK is a bargain though, especially with all the DLC bundled. BioShock 2 is a very lackluster game compared to the first one. And what I've played of Mafia 2 seemed a little hit or miss, still pretty fun though.
Out of those I'd go for JC2 or MK, depends on what you want really.
