What are your favourite Video Game moments?

My favourite moment (in recent memory) would have to be returning to Shadow Moses Island in MGS4, and taking control of MG REX. Awesome moment IMO

Hmm, good topic. I have loads and loads of favourite moments but i'll share a few off the top of my head......

The fight against Psycho Mantis in MGS1. I could hardly believe it when he 'read my mind' and the bit where he moved my controller. Not to mention the 'switch ports' thing. Awesome all round.

When Tifa died in Final Fantasy 7, and the boss fight that follows. I'd never felt emotion towards a video game up until that moment.

Storming the D-Day Landings beach on the first level of Medal of Honour Frontline. The noise, the action, the mayhem, it was incredible at the time. I played it again recently and its lost all of its impact these days, but yeah, at the time it was stunning.

Experiencing Manhunt for the first time, not having any idea of what to expect. It came out with virtually no publicity and i'd never heard of it until I saw it in the shops. I noticed the Rockstar tag, took a punt on it and it ended up being one of my very best games ever. I'll never forget plugging in my headset and having Starkweather talk directly in my ear, asking me to kill. It was an incredible experience.

The ending of Snake Eater in the white rose field. Being forced to do what you did was exceptional game making.

The ending of Read Ded Redemption. Beautiful, emotional, tragic, all rolled into one.

and basically every other mgs game, they all have their moments when its like "Damn, why'd that have to happen."

Also, GOW 3's ending, I was happy(epinephrine rush) to see kratos get to beat the **** out of Zeus and ge his revenge on all of them that betrayed him

It was Aeris/Aerith who died. The big breasted tifa lived.



The first play through of Shadow of the Colossus is pure magic.

Escaping the big metal spider in FF8 is always fun.

MGS3/4/peacewalker have tons of great moments that I could go on and on about.

In Deus Ex Human Revolution, any time a cinematic plays for Adam going into a door. L.I.M.B. clinic stands out the most, but his apartment was good too.

In Mass Effect 2, during an assault on a building under construction that is occupied by enemies. Towards the end of the mention you "interrogate" an enemy trooper near a window... afterwards, the evil option leads to an awesome one-liner and Shepard kicking the trooper out of very high window. (Try resisting the urge to say THIS - IS - SPARTA!)

Saint's Row the Third - Pierce and your avatar are in the "inner sanctum" of a valued friend and Pierce finds a 4 foot dildo.. which he then plays with and attempts to hide it when he's about to be caught holding it.

Dragon Age Origins and 2, Leliana's voice actor speaking.

Mass Effect 2, Miranda in the engine room.

Resident Evil 2, the licker that jumps through the one way mirror.

Silent Hill 4: The Room - "I am always watching you..."

Amnesia The Dark Descent, when you encounter the first monster in the cellar.

Assassin's Creed, listening to banter between assassins.

Uncharted 2, when rates Elena's almost-death.

Dead Island, when I turned it off.

Yeah I got to thinking about this today.

MGS3- So many awesome moments man. I went into this game virtually blind, and I was completely blown away. Awesome moments include The Ladder, the End battle and Guy Savage.

Assassins Creed 2- First game of the series that I played. The first Leap of Faith...just so wow.

Dead Space- The first necromorph you come across. Holy shitballs.

Mass Effect 2- In the opening sequence, when Shepard gets blasted into space. Chills.

And yes I did really like the twist in Black Ops.

4 aces Nice post, you should put spoilers in the title since some people probably haven't played all these games and we are talking about some of the best moments in then.

Demon's Souls, when you enter a cave and see Flamelurker break door and the battle starts.

Uncharted 2, when escaping Shambala the bridge breaks (as usual) and you start rolling down while Chloe is being attacked and when you are on the train and the helicopter blows the last cart before entering the tunnel.

Uncharted 3, the sinking ship.

Dead Space 2, "cross your heart and hope to die".

Mass Effect 2, the suicide mission except the boss fight.

God of War 3, fighting Chronos.

God of War 2, every boss battle in that game.

God of War, when you assemble the rings of Pandora.

Assassin's Creed, the first time you get the scope of the freedom you have to move around in impossible ways after you do the leap of faith.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, while entering the police station. It was the first time a game me the option to choose how I wanted to continue the story. Enter the station or fight the monster.

Final Fantasy IX, vivi's story.

Those are some of the best moments I remember out of the blue, I'm sure I'm missing a lot of my favorites..
