I honestly can't answer that even though I still love Mario games.

There's just something about Mario and his games that never gets old.

If they relied on their games, the Gamecube might have been more of a success. I know you can't blame Ninty for releasing the same games all the time because people buy them, but it still pisses me off. Why aren't people sick of Mario!?

I find it a bit annoying, too. It's like every time they release a new platform, it's like "Hey, we've got a new console for you, complete with even more Zelda and Mario!"

While they do try to make improvements on the Mario/Zelda formulas, I can't help but feel that Nintendo's kind of backing themselves into a corner with it. They don't seem to be making any attempts to form new IPs.

Mario is an icon... and should be buried with Duke Nukem. Opinion.

Mario is old. Nintendo needs new IP's. Paradox, I agree that a few recent Mario games have been fun and different, like Mario Galaxy and Paper Mario, but Mario the character has been running for too many years of a mix of being famous in pop-culture, and nostalgia.

I must; however, disagree with you on the case of Zelda. Every game since Ocarina has been exactly the same.


On another note, I think it is really sad how weak the Wii U is, considering how it has been 5-6 years since the Xbox 360 and PS3 came out. A slight improvement in graphics/power is sad. I am glad that Sony and Microsoft are waiting til 2013-2014 to release their next consoles. Both the 360 and the PS3 are still going strong. And frankly, they don't need to release a console really soon, just to compete with the Wii U.

Also, Mario is over used and old. Ninty needs to stop using him and start coming up with new ideas. Which is never going to happen.

Nobody beats Zhao Yun! I have kept him in his DW5 outfit though; that just IS Zhao Yun for me. As for Wei though, Zhang Liao's in a fully superior league

Love Romance of the Three Kingdoms and have read it a fair few times - it would likely take Hurricarno about a year to finish though what with the amount he reads I would also second the recommendation for 'Trials Of Chaos'; great book and yah, it reads sorta like a hybrid of ROTHK & the DW games and is in general much more 'casual reader friendly'

Yeah I haven't played DW3:XL either, but also didn't get DW6 since it was rushed and they made pretty horrible changes, but again my brother got DW6 Empires, so it's only those 2 I think. Was very pleased how DW7 turned out though, one of the best for sure. Also I do have access to RotTK, my brother got the books, but I haven't read them yet since I'm not a massive reader, but it's possible at some point. Oh and my Brother is Artirtico since I think you know him.

I think he could well have that as well. The name sounds familiar and I know he has another book focusing aroun the DW events.

BrokenKnights is an author? I didnt know that, Ill have to check out that book then! As for DW7, I also think it is one of the better ones so far, I like having one story for each of the kingdoms instead of playing the same thing with every player. I like the idea of Conquest Mode, but it still seems to be missing something, I wish they could make your player more prominent, maybe throw in some cutscenes or special moments or something... I have DW7:XL, but I have not played it yet, may take a break from DW after finishing Conquest mode, then I will move to FFXIII-2 --> Twisted Metal ---> Mass Effect 3. Then ill play it, its hard to play DW back to back like that.

Xiahou Dun, Zhang Liao, and Xu Huang are my top 3 in Wei... Wu is hard for me to determine, because the characters seem to change quite a bit in the games, but the book is always nice to lean back on... Shu is Zhao Yun, Ma Chao, and Guan Yu. I hate Jin, because they win and none of their characters, except maybe Sima Zhao and Wang Yuanji, interest me.

Ill definitely check out Trials of Chaos then...
