Tomb Raider Underworld on PSN is actually the PS3 version. The PS2 version of Underworld was barely a quarter of the game that it is on the PS3.

The Cloud storage for saves is invaluable, not just for backing up saves in the event of YLOD, but because you can use those saves on any PS3 just by logging onto your PSN ID. No need for USB drives or Ethernet Cables.
While some downloadable games are unavailable after subscription expiration, I still think it's a great advantage; a lot of the games they offer aren't really worth their full price, so getting some of them free in a limited capacity is still nice.
Plus, early beta access? I'm in. I've always hated managing stupid email applications to betas, or waiting forever for beta to go public.
I do still remember the whole "in game music, cross game chat" hoopla. But at this point, I really don't much care. I don't doubt I'd love it if we got it, but it's not something that, without it, makes gaming unenjoyable. heck, if I was playing a game and chatting, I'd end up going silent for extended periods of time due to concentration of the game objective.

That shit is such a waste of money. I'd rather pay $60 for better service with a less laggy interface
quote Cyanide
Cool; can you stop quoting me and talking shit about the other gaming platforms. It's getting irritating. I never brought either the PC or Xbox up.
If that's not a reference to xbox live I don't know what is. Not really. The XMB is a laggy piece of shit, sending messages is a pain in the ass, the layout for viewing peoples profiles is terrible...to be honest, I could care less about cheaper games and *bleep*ing avatars...
I would much rather spend the yearly subscription fee on a service that makes the XMB actually usable. They rake in the money from people who pay for the PS Plus subscription, yet do absolutely nothing to fix the absolutely atrocious user interface that is the XMB.
Now, I don't have an XBOX so I can't really compare...but the general PSN service makes me tear my hair out sometimes. To be frank, the XMB was never intended to be used in-game. The console OS itself wasn't really designed to be running XMB in-game either; it was a post-launch add-on. So expecting something to work flawlessly on a system that wasn't really intended to have such a feature isn't exactly a 100% fair accusation; what's more is that it's not even related to PSN, so I don't see what subscription prices have anything to do with it.
The 360 on the other hand, was most certainly designed on the premise that people were going to be using the dashboard in game. The reason it works so well is because they already had a console beforehand that implemented the feature, so they merely perfected it.

Cross game chat was only a rumor. Though I can't cite a source nor state it with full confidence, I'm pretty sure a Sony rep, or Sony themselves, once stated that the OS for the PS3 didn't allow for Cross game chat.

Well, everyone knows that the 360 has better allocated/more RAM, so it has that extra elbow room to supply the OS the ability to do what it does. The PS3 has less, and focuses more on the games themselves than the OS. Which I feel is the proper way to go; I bought my PS3 for the games it plays, not the OS and the doodads it has.
