	Log in to remove this sponsored message So im sitting in my room playing my ps3 clearly enjoying my new copy of fear 3 when all of a sudden the screen goes blank, my system shuts down and im sitting in a dark room with a very eerie silence. First thing i think is that maybe the game is playing a trick on me like batman did, after all it is fear were talking about. So i sit in the dark waiting for some sign of life from my ps3. One minutes goes past and by then I didnt want to think that it blew up but alas my fears were answered, i got a red light flashing continueosly. Thankyou for showing me true fear Warner Brothers. You guys have some tallent. So obviously im joking, so how do I go about fixing this problem? ------------------- Survival Horror Social / Charmed / Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

	Yeah whatever you do don't do anything or it will be waste of money and like Aeirou said it will effect your warranty so it will not be fixed.

It was perfectly fine till i put fear 3 in. 	CECHE? my went out, too. I think Sony is blowing up our PS3's so that we have to buy the new CECH-3000 (it's supposed to have anti home-brew software). I opened mine up (it's out of warranty) cleaned the dust out but that's it. I lifted the power supply and the CD drive (they both have a wire attached where I feel I can't pullout safely). After cleaning, it still has the same issue. It bogs down and freezes, occasionally turning off with the blinking red light (over-heating). I did get YLOD but it still turns on with my PSN ID saved-in, so it's not a true YLOD. You might be in the stage I am in soon. My diagnosis is the fan isn't working properly but i can't get deeper in my unit without damaging it. My suggestion for you is to start backing up your game save via USB stick or, if you are a PS+ user, the online servers. Then send it in or keep playing till it breaks. then buy a slim. -------------------

Im just gonna wait it out and get one for christmas. Buy the time i get a new one some games i want will be really cheap. just because it is cold doesn't mean your system won't overheat. the hot air generated by the PS3 is enough to overheat itself if the fan isn't working properly (hence my diagnosis). Again, I have the same issue. Is your PS3 CECHE? -------------------

I assume the PS3 has a fail safe in place to shut the console down before it burns out entirely, but it could easily be a cooling issue.
