LG would first seek to sort this out with Sony, only after that fails does anyone seek to ban imports. Exactly what I was going to post. LMAO This is business not spiteful fanboy warfare. This was not some conspiracy by LG teamed up with the EVIL Microsoft against everyone's (at least in this forum) hero, Sony! lol

This has probably been in the works for a while and only now has LG managed to get the injunction they sought. Honestly, if this suit has merit, and I have no idea of it does or does not, then PLEASE, for the love of everything holy, let's put the blame where it belongs, on Sony.

Oh and one more thing: The resolution of this will probably be that Sony has to pay royalties on the patents they infringed upon, if it turns out that they are libel.

Sony is not my hero, hes just a cool guy I look up to and this will come to an agreement where everyone wins because sony is doing the same thing to lg and there phones, I gotta search the game informer website for the article real quick

So what is the actual complaint about?

Is it the use of blu ray?

I am curious to find out what it is because Sony probably has a bigger share of the blu-ray than LG... Sony is one of the 3-4 companies than financed the whole thing if I remember correctly, and LG is nowhere near the size of Sony...

I always thought LG was a heap of shit, regardless of this whole "lol suing sony" fiasco. :/

Not sure that is true, more like LG was contemplating it for a couple years or were unaware of the problem to begin with. however, it seems as though LG are talking about newer models of the PS3.

Honestly, no case like this would take 4+ years to even get to court. LG probably just found out about this recently, then tried to verify their findings, then took their findings to the court... Then we heard about it.

well if what daweii is saying is true that probably only the slim models infringe patents than LG wouldnt have been waiting. If the old models didnt LG probably didnt care untill they realised the new models infringe the patent. And what slims have only been out for a year?
