Earlier this year he predicted that the WiiHD would be coming in 2010. Time has passed though and now he's changed his tune. Pachter is now predicting that Nintendo won't be bringing the WiiHD to gamers, Sony will. In an interview with Eurogamer, Pachter couldn't help but say EVERYTHING on his mind: Eurogamer: Let's talk about E3. Who would you rather be: Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony? It really depends on this 3DS and how good it is, because I don't think Nintendo has anything else. Nintendo is on the verge of - certainly not dropping into third place or anything - losing its dominance, because I really truly believe that Sony Move is the Wii HD. I really believe it. That's been my quote: I told everyone a Wii HD was coming this year, it just happens to say PS3 on the box. It is the Wii HD. That's a very easy upsell for Sony to say, "If you have a Wii and you really want to play high-def games on your new big high-def TV, we've got 'em." Sony is a winner and Nintendo is a loser on the console side, because the Wii Vitality Sensor isn't going to excite anybody. But the 3DS will. If you look at Nintendo's line-up, everything we care about is either out or known by now. People are going to like Microsoft more than we expect. Microsoft isn't concerned about the gaming community with Natal, they're concerned about the gaming community's mothers and girlfriends. I really do think the gaming press has completely missed the mark on this one, that Natal is not intended for you to get up there and pretend you're holding a rifle and playing Call of Duty. It's intended for your mum to use the frickin' 360 to download a movie or watch Netflix and to make it less intimidating. The cool thing about Natal is the voice command. "Xbox on." I mean, that's cool. People will really like it when they see it and they begin to appreciate what it is. But I will say Sony up, Microsoft neutral and Nintendo down on the console side. If the 3DS is anything like those little 3D point-and-click cameras, because that screen technology is pretty cool and I'm sure it is that, it will really get people excited. Question is: what does it cost? If they get $189 for a DSi XL, do they think they're going to get $300 for a 3DS? I don't know. Maybe they will, but that's a tough purchase for me.The 3DS is coming along at a really good time for them. I don't think it's good for the DSi XL. If they launch the thing [the 3DS] prior to holiday, I can't imagine why anybody would buy a DSi XL this holiday. Personally, I've felt Nintendo was being really stupid for not having a WiiHD already out. I mean, there are people out there creating wii emulators that can display at HD resolutions. It would seem obvious that there is a market out there for HD gamers but sadly it looks like Nintendo isn't moving fast enough. As Sony forges ahead into new territory with Move and 3D, will Nintendo get left in the dust? Will Natal really bring anything new to the area? Will Nintendo show off WiiHD at E3? Only time will tell. Stay Tuned... Source I actually agree with this statement, never been a fan of the Wii mote with all the shovelware dominating the library. As for Microsoft, I think he is right, this is not something that will appeal to the hardcore gamers with arms flailing everywhere. Microsoft has yet to show how this works for hardcore games, there was word for it to work for the big racing games, but if that is all, it wont work. Sony has shown that they are trying to target both the casual and hardcore market with Move Party and Socom 4 respectively. 	I agree with the article. Nintendo has screwed themselves by relying on their classic franchises and that's it. They haven't done anything in terms of HD which will kill them. Sony is going to catch up to at least the 360 at some point, I mean its sales have been up for a while now, and have no reason to drop with the blockbuster lineup Sony has coming up. Not to mention that Move is the WiiHD like said above. Enough said. -------------------

	Nope, Gamesta is right although I read the entire thing. Personally, I don't take anything analyst say as factual cause they're analysts. The same people who said the PS3 is going to crumble and fail 2 years ago. While I think Move will be a cool thing it won't be anything special and 3D will NOT TAKE OFF at all. 	Hmm I disagree.. I think 3D will have a place in TP Fantasy RPGS and MMORPGS.. But I don't think it will lift off for FPS games like CoD BF Halo etc. It would just be another distraction. ------------------- I will be here after dark, under streetlights.

They aren't right every time, but they make the best guess possible by looking at or analyzing the current situation, market, consumer buying habits, etc. There were analysts that were saying the PS3 was going to fail, but they were saying it was going to fail because of its price point and lack of software. If the price of the PS3 stayed the same and the quality of titles didn't rise, then it would have failed. It is why those SAME analysts said that in order for the PS3 to succeed, Sony would have to make changes. Which they did. For anyone to write off what an Analyst says just because there are times when they aren't right is rediculous. As someone who is majoring in the Financial Market Regulation and looking at Analyst predictions for the market, I find it ridiculous and absurd that anyone would just write off what someone says because they are an Analyst. Their entire job is to predict the future based on what they know to their current knowledge. I would like to see you predict the future with as much accuracy as they do... -------------------

	I know exactly what they do Jeter, I'm not completely stupid as you like to assume. I knew for the last several years even before Koloth told everyone what they do. That doesn't mean I should agree with them. Just because Gamesta stopped reading the rest doesn't mean I did as well. I even mentioned it on the part you quoted. Be that as it may, you asked us what we think and I responded saying I disagree. Both the Move and 3D are gimmicks but Move actually has a place right now in the gaming world than 3D so it will not take off right now. 	Well i think half the guys at the General PS3 forum are immature and can't debate without calling each other something or the other See! I just did it now Anyways, i think that article sounds about right. Nintendo aren't really doing much at the moment, however i think once Natal starts showing up everywhere (like Move is starting to), Sony will have to keep up via other means. Analysts are smarter and better than you, I can understand why you get your panties in a bunch when one of them gives his predictions on what the future holds for the three companies. 	Wii is going to stay in first because of casual gamers and thier franchises. Then 360 since thier online community is way higher then sonys. Last sony because they took to long to deliver which cost them money they could of used to keep thier exclusives. Im not saying anything about about any of them its just sonys marketing skills arent as good.
