It's because the 360 comes with a headset, the PS3 doesn't.

Gamesta, are you serious? Every time I play online, there is at least one whiny kid on the mic. Or are you talking about PSN?

True, it is noticable that many people on PSN don't have headsets. I kind of like it better. Because as much as I love talking to people, I am a big talker, and I find things get really chaotic when everyone has mic's.

I'm torn down the middle regarding what friends are on each console. I'm moving towards PSN way more now because most of my friends with 360's don't even play anymore or at least don't play any games I have.

I honestly have run into very few issues online with the PSN from my experiences with the MAG beta and Uncharted 2.

That's a point in itself actually. Seems to me that on the CoD's attracted the kids. During the time I played R2, FoM and Killzone I hardly ever heard any kids talking rubbish. Come to think of it, CoD 4 and MW2 were the only games in which I really want to mute people..

As for the topic.

I personally find XBL harder to navigate around, not sure why that is, I just do. I also think in terms of online play, XBL is perhaps a bit more stable than PSN. Unsure though. The only real thing XBL has over PSN is content, but even then most of it I wouldn't really buy anyway.

Well, you can rarely expect mature or even civilised communications in any Call of Duty online game regardless of console.

For me, XMB has felt pretty messy and unrefined compared to Live's menu setup.

I'm used to the setup for the most part since I've owned a PSP for ages but there's too many things in it to work. PSP has games on the memory put into a file whereas PS3 has them all on the main XMB so once you have a lot of demos and PS1 games you have all of that on the main menu. Friends and messaging system could be better as well for the same reason.

Could be more of a personal preference as well but I'd like a mini menu when I press the center button mid-game rather than the full thing.

Overall it makes it just not feel like a console that's online, just a big home console PSP.

See this is exactly what I disagree with. I find the XMB to be so incredibly simple. Photos are under the photos column, music is under the music column, Games are under the games column, etc. Personally I think it's common sense game data would be under Games.
