Well, it's not exactly surprising that they'd want to milk the CP as much as they can. after all, it's only been in use for the PS3 for about a year, and it's way too early for them to be making new technology when this one hasn't even reached its potential yet. 	i like that it is coming out, in a good time 3-4years, but then again in 3-4years the ps3 CP might become obsolete but i guess only time will tell ------------------- PSN-Sins_and_saints

	The current Cell will be obsolete. But that doesn't mean that they won't have a faster core, or perhaps even more cores. Basically the article is saying te PS4 won't be as radical a departure from the PS3 as the PS3 was to the PS2. 	It will probably use a newer Cell processor. Sticking to the old one would be dumb and pointless. By 2012-2011, developers should already know how to programm for Cell. -------------------

	I'd prefer they don't skimp on the GPU and RAM though. Not to say they really did with the PS3, the GPU is obviously up to snuff, but the 256MB of RAM HAS been a bit of an issue. 	For the last time, it has 512 mb of RAM ( 256 XDR and 256 GDDR3). But yeah, it's still not enough. -------------------

	I'd rather the PS3 last another 8 years than see a PS4 in 3 years. There's a reason why I've put my money down on the PS3 - it's longevity is but one of them, and if that is short lived then well... -------------------

The reason for this is that it doesn't matter how much RAM you have as long as the RAM is clocked fast enough so that the information doesn't stay in the RAM long enough to clog it. This is the case in the PlayStation 3 the RAM itself is clocked to the speed of the CPU, so that as soon as it gets something the CPU has it and have sent it off to the onboard sound and GPU. XDR is fast RAM much faster than anything in PC's today so that said the PS4 could only have 512Mb XDR and it would be fine. -------------------

	November 2012 would be 6 years guys. That's still 4 years away. Do the math, it is not to soon. It isn't like they are releasing this next year. Planning a new console takes years. 	I wonder what type of DVD they're going to use for PS4. Either they use a new type of Blu-Ray (100-200GB), or sign a contract with someone who can make a new type of DVD. Though I can't really imagine something newer than BD. -------------------

	Personally they could go Holographic Video Disc but personally they invented Blu-Ray and Cell for a reason, they won't have put all that money and years of research into something just to supersede it in a few years. -------------------
