	Okay so yesterday my friend came over too check out the PS3 he then came across my copy of Canis Canem Edit For Ps2 (Bully for you americans). Since quite a while ago i got the Scholarship Edition for Wii i said he could keep it. He asked if we could try it out so i popped the disc into my PS3 but then I get an error message. Something about the PS2 software isn't combatibal. But then why is there a feature for Internal PS2/PS1 memory cards? Is this just me? Any idea why? Edit:Just too point out im trying the PS2 version. ------------------- Terrierboy

	Because they only took out the Hardware inside the Ps3 for the compatibility.

	No Wesk, it's because downloadable games from the PS store still use the memory card feature and you can supposedly play the Metal Gear Solid games on the 40GB PS3 (or so I've heard). I have a 60GB however, so I cannot confirm if the latter is true. ------------------- Type-MOON

I have a 40 gb and every PS1 game I've tried on mine has worked (Tekken 3, MGS, Street Fighter and Legend of Legaia (possibly one of the most unheard of PS1 games there is)) No PS2 game has worked though.

	Urg. Can we this in a sticky or something: The 40GB can play all PlayStation 1 format games, it cannot play PlayStation 2 format games. The reason you can still create PS2 internal memory cards is that Sony may, one day, put PS2 backwards compatability on the PS3 through a firmware update. Also, PS2 games may become avaliable for download (like Xbox originals on the 360) on the PS Store one day, and you'll need somewhere to save them. -------------------

	This thread PS2 Format Issues, basically breaks down why they have PS2/PSX internal memory card without the hatred that is currently stirring in this thread. As for upgrading to 80GB... you can upgrade the Harddrive Space, but other than that, no, you cannot add 'Backwards Compatibility' to your console. -------------------
