New sonic game

Well the only real new Sonic game was Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 were both pretty badass.

No they didn't remove free roam.

I'll rent it. Best bet I won't like it.

The problem isn't that they suck as much as thay the gameplay that made this series great is outdated. Truth be told, games are so much more sophisticated these days that Sonic really has no mass appeal. I loved Sonic. Those old Sega Genesis games were classic and great for their time. Now though, how far can you get from a character that moves by spinning at thousands of RPM's and collects rings?

It's like Pac Man. When it was in it's heyday it was awesome, even revolutionary, but it isn't any fun anymore to run around a maze and collect dots and power pills while dodging ghosts. No matter how hard they try, games like Sonic and Pac Man can never seem to make the transition into modern gaming consoles.

Games that come from the 16 bit eras need to stay there. Sonic Rush on the DS was actually a pretty decent modern Sonic game. Sonic the Hedgehog on the PS3/360 however was not. I think Team Sonic just needs to realize that no matter how hard they try, putting Sonic in 3D is just a plain stupid idea. They need to do something like the dev team did for Contra 4: make a classic gametype better. Take what you've learned about platformers over the years and make a better game. Don't try to reinvent the franchise every generation.

With that said, the Sonic RPG on the DS will be great, whereas this game will suck.

Eh, I sure hope it's a good one! I got passed the flaws of the first PS3 sonic game, mostly because it was the first time I was able to play a Sonic game after growing up always wanting to play one. But I know it could have been so much better . . .

Who cares, all you do in Sonic is hold down forward.

Its ok for a bit then just gets boring.
