Is there anyway to get a different background on the home page if the PS3 itself doesnt connect to the internet...yet (hopefully).

Can I use a USB flash drive and save a picture on that from my PC and hook it to the PS3 and save it there?

You guys have some killer set-ups. How much did all that cost you. I would feel embarrassed to show mine now

Just put a picture on your USB. Connect that to the PS3 go on pictures then press triangle and view all. When the picture is on the screen just set it as wallpaper

Only had my ps3 about 2 weeks, Uncharted was brilliant 5/5 beautiful game great story, completed it in 5days. MGS4 a tad disappointing, graphics good but not as good as Uncharted. Im on Act 3 and losing motivation to play. Good not brilliant. Motorstorm is fun as I generally dislike racing games, prefer arcade/ off road racing.

PS3 better built machine than 360, looks better, better for dvd's. Produces less noise. But as a games console its not really very good. All multiplatform games I get for 360 as they look and play better. Fifa 09 im undecided but most likely get it for 360. I loved Uncharted though but thats probably the only game I believe is worth owning for it. But a promising line-up next year so fingers crossed.

That is an EDTV (Enhanced Definition TV). More clarity than SD TVs, but not actually High Definition. The resolution's the same as SD TVs, it is just that there is less blurriness, and the overall picture quality is better.

@Redwolf - that made me lol IRL (at least, chuckle).....I can just imagine it....Sounds like something from that comic strip you can see on the General Computer Hardware forum ^_^;;;

You said it 'supports HD', which is the same as saying it is a HDTV. It may be able to accept the cables, but that doesn't mean it supports HD much more than SD does.

The cables are for the Progressive (the 'p' in the resolution) signal, since (to my knowledge) Composite doesn't support progressive signals.

Most SDTVs can take a HD source and display them (case in point, one could watch a blu-ray movie on a SD TV). You just don't get any real benefit from it, since you don't have the display that can make use of it....Only really old/crappy SDTVs don't display HD right (Black and white image, instead of color).

Also, 420 (originally thought it said 480p) is a lower resolution than SD TVs (even if it is widescreen). Your TV isn't widescreen, so it can't properly take advantage of a widescreen format.

Figured the 420p thing was just some weird widescreen format. Just a typo on your part then.

I think this is just a case of a person not wording things right. Sounded like you were implying your TV was capable of displaying things in HD. Whatever, I'm going to sleep soon, leaving my HDTV to cool down >_>

Yeah so I don't have a PS3 but I'll post a picture of the set up in my room as I recently purchased Optical surround sound and the 360 version of this is dead and it's mostly TV's or w/e posted here SO

[Okay this setup is temporary as you can see I have a plank of wood balancing on a stack of books to make some room for the DVD player which has this awesome iPod dock. The TV's 1080p and the surround sound is phenomenal. the Sub woofer and back speakers are scattered around the room]
