Eyetoy + PSP = Security Camera. (It works!) |
|
I thought of this last night while noticing the new items on the Store. Mainly the Eyetoy games and apps.
When Remote Play goes global (ie. able to access your PS3 from anywhere) would it be possible to use Remote Play to access the EyeToy and see your living room? That would be pretty cool, especially for spying on people. This message was edited by Mnmfan on Dec 03 2007. -------------------

That would be pretty cool. I would love to have that. But I think access your ps3 means accessing your pictures, music and videos. And in LAIR's case, the game itself too.

All the more reason to believe that it's possible then.
I'd love to be able to spy on the babysitter. -------------------

I doubt the Eye would be compatible with Remote Play, but it's a cool idea. In fact, we should have someone who's bought the Eye to try testing it out with Remote Play.

Wow, that is a really awesome idea.
If it doesn't work. Then they can always make an updated for it because of the high demand. =P -------------------

I don't see why this wouldn't work tbh. If a game like LAIR is accesible in Remote Play, I don't see why a camera wouldn't be..

quote ShaneYeah the technology is there to do it, it just depends on Sony if they decide to add the feature. -------------------

I'm pretty sure they will. It would be great to have such a feature, but alas, I don't have a camera, nor am I planning to buy one.

That is funny. So if someone steals my PS3, they will be able to go home and watch themselves steal it all over and over again.

I'm going to try this once I'm done with the forums for tonight. If it works, I'll post back (actually, I'll probably post to confirm whether it does or not)...
Even if it doesn't work now, it probably CAN be implemnted (actually, it will probably be implemented at some point).... EDIT: Nope, it doesn't work, at least not yet. Also, they likely wouldn't implent this feature until they had a separate icon to activate the PSEye, as the eyeCreate software is editing/processing software, not simply a webcam type application This message was edited by tallteen86 on Oct 27 2007. -------------------

i was never going to get the eyetoy for my ps3 but if this becomes availble then i will pick one up, sony would prob do well with those ps3 owners that wouldnt use the eye toy for gaming, but if we can spy on the damn garbage men that throw my cans in the street then i would buy two(im way to lazy to get up at 5am and catch them in the act, so yes i would rather buy the camera)
