Same problem, but with everquest...the error message pops up regardless of whether or not directx 9b is installed. I even rolled directx back to 8.1, then reinstalled 9b, rebooted, no dice. ANy help, and you will be worshipped as a god.

Refering to person(s) with the everquest problem... Go to your EQ folder delete all .dll files. Run the patch program which will then download the missing .dll files and presto you are up and running. Had same problem came up with this fix. If I had time I'd narrow it down to the exact .dll file, but this blanket approach works fine..Hope this helps

Anyone know about the d3d9.dll? I had the problem that is posted here... moved all my .dll files to a different folder and had EQ download new ones. When I did this... it missed the d3d9.dll and now it displays a different message: 'This application has failed to start because d3d9.dll was not found. Reinstalling the aplication may fix this problem.' Seeing as I dont have my CDs anymore, reinstalling wouldn't be feasable.
