Can you get this in the ps2 version? i read in a guide (i think it was a psp guide) that you could get a fire axe, i just wanna know if you can? for i cant find it (have checked every fire station exept the first one)

I think, I'm not so sure, but when you get in a Firetruck maybe?

It's located at the fire station in Harwood, Portland. The axe is around the backside of the building, not where the firetruck spawns.

If you're looking for an even rarer melee weapon, you can get a machete. It doesn't have a set location anywhere in the game, and the only way to get one is to kill a gang member/criminal who is carrying one.

which people carry the machete??
