	Yes. This is a DirectX problem. DirectX was never designed to run the way it did on doze95 & 98 on NT, 2000, and XP, but now it does. You need to go to microsoft.com and get the DirectX 9.0c ver. This will allow your XP machine to run the game. And its a lot faster too! Hope this helps other Recoil fans

	works fine, just found out and am looking for players now just install the IPX network protocol (windows included, but not installed) and you may play on LAN :cool

	Tried the directx fix and it doesn't work for me. My gpu is a BFG 6600GT OC matched to a 2600+ running XP Home with SP2. It will run through the "start up" video but when it is time for the game to start it shuts down with the typical "do you wish to report......" window. Would love to get it to run as it was a main stay game for me back when!

	I've read the posts before and updated directX to the latest version, but recoil still doesn't work. i installed the game, and when i open the game a problem message occurs (windows has detected a problem, recoil has to be shut down...). can somebody please help me? i'd like to play this game so much...

	Recoil works on my laptop but not my desktop - both run xp sp2 & directx 9.0c..grafix mebbe ?but wont run on gamez either

	I installed Recoil on an IntelliStation, using that funny "run as tho' it is under W98" or something, and it works fine. Can't find anyone online to play against, though.

	go to properties of recoil.exe file and set compatibility to windows-95. game works like a charm. i like this game

	Still looking for someone to play against, online. I play it a lot, but I am getting too good for it, as I know all the tricks.
