Ok I'm probably *bleep*ed but how the *bleep* do I use cut? (this is the first time I played this gmae in years and I totally forgot) I'm in cerulean city and I jsut beat misty who said that I can now use cut at any time. Well I need to cut down a specific bush but I can't figure out how to do it.

By beating Misty, you earn the ability to use Cut out of battle, provided you have the move. It doesn't automatically give you that move for free.

You have to complete the SS Anne sequence in order to get the Cut HM, then teach it to a Pokemon (preferably a throwaway one, since you don't want a move that's so bad in-battle to clog down the movesets of your good Pokemon) and when you want to use it (when you're standing next to a breakable tree), pause the game, select that Pokemon, and you'll see the Cut option. Choose that option and the tree will disappear.

That explains it pretty well.
