Ah, I know probably nobody will ever read this, but I just got done reading this book. Utterly amazing, by far the greatest book I have ever read in my life. Orwell's depiction of life inside Ingsoc, the people, the atitued, the depletion of the mind down to the last detail, brings such life to the book. It's the only book that has really brought me into it. I mean, before the book I figured there would be absolutly no importance anybody could bring to the simple equation, 2+2=4.

But mid-way through, you find that it's not an equation, it's a way of thinking.... maybe that's not the best way to put it, so I'll use the quote.

Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows.

The build up of power throughout the novel of that singular idea, that something so simple can be so powerful. Or even the "I Love You" note slipped to him, how much beyond it takes those words is amazing.
