[Project] A beginner's guide for MHF players

Well my first tip would be: Don't worry about armor off the start, early on in the game armor isn't your priority, so save your materials and make the best weapons possible.

I have more but i'll let othres post first.

Yeah right. One of the first tips to killing a kut-ku is:

The Kut ku is the first real wyvern you may encounter. ( cephadrome is a piscene, and
thus does not count as a wyvern ) The Kut ku is fast and more than likely go into burts of
running you over. ( the blue Kut Ku is more likely to not stop this behavior ) Its
Fire attacks are like the basarios's secondary fire attack, a glob of heat flung randomly
forward. These will normally miss, unless you get into a patch of REALLY bad luck.
( Bad luck as in your stunned, or you stumble backward. ) Attack its legs, in order to
avoid most of its tail swinging attacks.( some will hit you anyway, unless you roll
out of the way. ) Its only other attack that I can remember right now, is its
" pecking " attack, which can stun or hurt you alot. Sonic bombs are very
effective against blue and normal versions.
Most of these tactics are the same for the Blue Version, It only has a little more
HP and a tougher hide, which requires a stronger sword.

At your stage I got lots of flashbombs and a pitfall trap to kill him.

Pitfall trap = Net + Trap tool
Net = Ivy + Spiderweb
Flash bomb = Flashbug (I think) + Bomb Material
Bomb Material = Sap plant + Stone

be very defensive, if you can afford it, use barrel bombs, and use a small one to detonate the big ones. falsh bombs really help, flash him, go between his legs, drop a pitfall, and then detonate bombs on him! ( he also hates sonic bombs )

flash bombs and pitfall traps help alot but for me i didnt use anything i got myself a bonespike and it kill him pretty easy just try and stay underhim that way he doesnt tail whip you. If you see a tail whip comming to hit you just roll out of the way or defend. Try and attack his head its his weak point.

i wouldnt use any bombs at all it puts him into a beserk mdoe he becomes faster and starts to run around alot and you might find yourself more on the ground that fighting, Just try and hack at him like crazy.

I would just use the posion batlle axe. I killed it really fast with that weapon.

in forerst and hills i like killing it in area 3, in the jungle any place is a bit harder to kill because of all the bushes so u cant see much.

When it starts to limp it means its almost dead but you prob. know that but when its almost dead it goes to zone 5.

AFter the super dash (the running thing) roll over to one side, avoid the fire and when you get up hack its wings which will do more damage. when it stays (doesn't do anythin, just looking around), it's a big oppurtunity to whack it!

if u're using an SnS, hit his legs with a combo ending with the circle attack, after a couple of circle hits, the kutku will fall down and u can whack its wings more!

whenever u can, hit its wings and head OR tail as much as possible, however his legs is a pretty easy target too...

I suggest using the velo set because it negates knockout, which is the main problem faced when facing a wyvern. if u're facing it in a jungle, try to lure him to area 2, not 1. if it fled to area 3, go after it, whack it a good chunk of HP until it is mad, then fled to area 2, most likely it will follow you! the same on the forest and hills, try to lure it to area 3, since those areas are the ones without any hostile monsters.

i hope this helps, cause using this tactic i manage to kill the kutku with velo set and assasin dagger in 10 minutes only.
