Ancient Stone question

I'm after the Eternal Schisms (who isn't?), but I'm not entirely sure if I understand correctly how they work. Here's what I've gotten from the information I've seen around here:

First, you need at least 10(?) Rust or Ancient Stones. Once you have them, complete a quest, then save the game. Now, polish all of your Rust/Ancient stones, and note the following:

1. Whether the stone gives the type of weapon you want (in my case, does it give a Dual Blade?), and it's position on the list

2. What number the Ancient Weapon was (did I get the first level of the Ancient-Stone-only weapon on the fifth polishing?)

Then, restart the game without saving and head back to the crafter's shop. If the 3rd Ancient Stone in my list gave me a Dual Blade Weapon, and I got an Ancient-Stone-only weapon on my fifth polishing, I should make sure to polish the 3rd Ancient Stone on my list only after polishing 4 other Ancient Stones. I should then recieve the Worm Blades, which I can then upgrade to Eternal Schisms at will.

Is this information correct, or am I missing the point? If I'm missing the point, then please explain it in simple terms, as all the technical talk is making my head hurt.

I figure 10 would give you a better chance of figuring out what stone you need to polish, and when to polish it. Beyond that, I just pulled the number out of thin air.

ok, I didn't exactly read YOUR whole question but this is how I got mine; Okay, I overreacted a bit by getting 30 ancient stones, but this is my process, do 3 quests(after you get 30 ancient stones, I preferr the rathian quest), then go to your house and save, then go to the merchant, polish all the stones but make sure you polish the dual blades last, this is a kind of long process, but hey at least it's gaurenteed to get you at least one ancient weapon! In this process( which I did twice), I got (these are upgraded versions) eteral schisms, epitaph blade, and I also got island of the gods

Someone was quite adament about Garuga being weak to Dragon element, so I did it to prove it to him. I used TBDSword with ESP and timed out. I wated all 50 minutes and didn't manage to kill him. I trapped him all 3 pits and used all 15 flashbombs. I never saw him limp.
