Looks quite frightening to me. From reading the GameInformer mag to checking out that trailer, it has the potential to be really good.

Well when there are people salivating over this twenty seconds, I'm perfectly justified in saying it looks boring. It does look frightening, I'm completely with you, but it doesn't even look half as scary as Silent Hill or other horror games. Plus it just seems like the whole "aliens attacked your spacecraft and now you're stranded alone in space while they pop out of the dark trying to kill you" idea has been done too much, by both movies and games. But hey, maybe it will redeem itself with some future material.

Anywhere I can read about this online? I don't get Game Informer anymore, and I really don't feel like Googling it at this moment.

I read it a couple weeks ago at Barnes, I haven't had a subscription to any magazines in years. Don't think there's anyway to read it online as far as I know.

There is no difference, aside from the fact that Spider-Man will never be available on HD-DVD.

I've explained numerous times elsewhere that quality differences between both formats is a non-issue, but capacity is and there is absolutely no reason to support a product where capacity is of the utmost importance.

I'll put it very simply as to why ANYONE should support Blu-Ray over HD-DVD.

First you look at what is the most important when you're going to be picking what format to push for the future. The most important aspect of a video based medium would be quality. Since quality on both formats is nearly identical you then move down to the next most important thing, capacity. Simple.

It's fact that I could easily argue that Blu-Ray also has the potential to actually deliver a higher quality picture and audio than HD-DVD but as of right now it would be useless. However that does help to futureproof Blu-Ray as opposed to HD-DVD. So you see, in both quality and capacity, Blu-Ray has much more staying power.

I was just about to comment on the likely hood of there being 2-3 5 minute sections of the game where you would actually be floating in space.

Dead Space was the game that was on the cover of this month's GI issue right? Yeah, that *bleep*ing game looks sweet as Bay's asshole, I can't wait to buy it.




Anyway, in Gears tonight I did really well in a few rounds and really bad in a few as well. The first two matches with Bay against Curtis and McBain were absolutely horrible, and even worse when Curtis AND Bay were on my team. Old Bones (after three levels) was good though-- me and Curtis and some other guy against Bay, McBain, and Sereph. BTW, Curtis, when I walked past you I was trying to switch t shotgun only to realize that I had accidentally switched shotgun for boom, so my bad on that one big time. Pretty gay that you left though, because then at Raven Down I had more kills than Bay, McBain, and Toaster COMBINED in a 5-1 spanking. Owned in Garden after that too. All in all it was good times, and nice to play Gears with a few forum regs again.


And here's the real kicker for Manna's sake... I only got headshot THREE TIMES (two by sniper and one by shotgun) in like 90 rounds of action. Hoorah.

There was like 10 occasions where it would be 2 of them vs. me and you, and I'd be out there on the battlefront shooting away getting blasted, and you'd be hanging wayy back with your sniper trying to get active reloads. And as for that torque bow occasion, I was about to tag him until you came roadie running upform behind him just to steal the god damn kill.


Don't gimme your bullshit son, I had you locked down.
