A gaming magazine (Game Informer methinks), summed up their review of The OB pretty nicely: Just buy it.

I'm in no rush to get any new games really. The only thing that has really caught my eye this side of Christmas is Mass Effect. Which is all I'm buying. I might get CoD4 but I'll most likely see what people think and if it's good then ask for it for Christmas.


Anyway, been playing through Halo CE, I forgot how much I liked the campaign, even though there aren't many weapons and stuff, it's just fun, it's got that charm about it. For some reason it gets a lot of slowdown, may be because it's got some scratches on it, or because it's just not an efficient engine, I dunno. Almost onto the last level on the Autumn now, then I'll go through Halo 2, and Halo 3 again. I have an essay to do but screw it.

It had a crack from the cneter and it got bigger over time, STEF. It decided to not read about 30 minutes after you went offline.

I got that with Gears, because the collectors edition case was too tight for the disc and it put a strain on it every time you got it out. I later on moved it to a regular DVD case but the damage was already there, over time it got bigger until I kept getting disc read errors. By the way, Tom. You can send any Microsoft Game Studios game back to Microsoft to get replacements. It's free for Halo 3 until like Dec 31st.

That's why I keep my Halo 3 discs in a seperate cd case instead of putting them in the tin death trap when I'm not playing them.

Amen. I only get the tin cases because they look cool. I rarely store the games in them. Good thing I have a lot of spare cases.


Finished Halo: CE today, I forgot just how annoying the final mission is. Jesus, when you make that huge jump and die every 9 in 10 times you do it. It's really annoying.

I just bought a regular edition today and I'll be taking the Tin back soon to get a refund.

I did that. I mean why even release a Collectors Edition for Gears of War. At that time a sequel was only an idea. I mean what was I collecting?

So Steam. What is it about? I've downloaded some small program for it to create my account because I wanna buy Half Life 1 and maybe some of the expansions too, as well as Half Life 2. Is it solely you buying the game in pure byte form instead of getting a disc for it? And are there ANY catches to it? Like will I need to pay for anything other than the games I buy? Thanks.

There's no catches to Steam (as far as I know). They give some deals and such, like if you want to buy TF2 alone. It's a neat program, you download the games once you buy them, and it's also installed in the process.

Then you got features like Xfire, such as seeing who in your friends list is playing what, and you're able to join them if possible. You also get avatars to use.

The games will be tied to your profile, so if you want to download it on another computer, simply get Steam up on that CPU and it'll download for you. I like Steam, if you couldn't already tell
