Rules For Posting BehaviorHere is a list of rules that are to be followed at all times by all members and guests that choose to participate in this forum's discussions or write a User Review. Please obey all the rules here! They are meant to make the discussion environment more comfortable for everyone.SPAM - Eat It, Don't Post It!! Please don't post SPAM. It is understandable if you love posting but we will not tolerate putting up with your desire to simply post nonsense and make a nuisance of yourself in the forum.
Do Not Go Off-Topic Unless a certain thread allows it, the discussions here are to be Halo related and replies are to be related to the initial post of the thread ONLY.
No Flamming Let's all try to get along and keep this forum a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Certain members may not be as 'smart' as you are or have the same opinions you do, but that does not mean you should begin insulting each other.
No Road Trip Games, Clubs, or Activities No more road trip games or activities in this forum. Threads like Popcorn threads, ABC threads, etc. Those just invite SPAM and random one liners and just have no point. Quiz threads and anything of that nature is fine as long as they relate to the game and they encourage well thought-of replies.
No Memberating You are not the moderator of this forum. Therefore requesting threads to be closed(unless you are the author of it), flaming members or guests because they made a mistake, and anything else of that nature is not allowed. Don't go out of the way of the topic at hand just to flame someone because they made a mistake or duplicated a thread or for anything. If you find any post with questionable content PM one of the moderators here and we will deal with it or report the post. Also please don't flame newbies for inanely bumping threads. It is a nuisance, yes. But understand that all threads in this forum new and old are referenced through search engines. Newcombers who are referenced to that page may be galvanized to reply unwitting of the consequences.
The Report Button is Not a Toy Please don't abuse the report button. If the thread is full of spam just report one post and the whole thread or most of it will be looked at. Only report posts that really are unnecessary and that need urgent deletion or tending to.
Don't Talk Like A *bleep*tard Try to speak as proper English as you can. I don't care if you have shitty grammer and spelling. Talking tardishly to the point where it is unreadable is not acceptable. You can post with horrible grammer and spelling but at least make it something the forum can comprehend at a glance.
No Advertising Unless there is a thread that we have given the right, there is to be no posts simply to advertise any website. What I recommend is that you either advertise your website in your banner, avatar, custom title, or submit Halo websites here.
No Illegal or Pirated Content Roms, Emulators and other pirated content are all illegal so please do not provide links to any of that. Also scanning full pages of magazine articles, strategy guides, and books is also prohibited as is treated as illegal trafficking of copyrighted material. Neoseeker will not allow their forums to be used in any involvement with trafficking pirated content.
Misuse of Services This includes any violation of XBOX Live and Bungie's Terms of Use or Code of Conduct, glitching & cheating in matchmaking, hacking, selling accounts, etc. This is not allowed. Neoseeker will not allow use of site and forums to be involved with any misuse of services.
Creating A New Thread vs. Bumping and Using An Older One Creating a new thread of a topic that might already exist is alright under certain conditions. Bumping and using an older thread is alright under certain conditions. What is not okay? Creating a new thread that is a virtually a duplicate of a thread that already exists within the most recent of threads on the index. Typically around the first two pages. That is not okay. Bumping an older thread with an inane response. That too is not okay. In this case, whether you are making a new thread or bumping an old one of a similar topic, it doesn't matter and doesn't determine the post's legitimacy. If you are going to post whatever you need to post whether it is a bumped old thread or a new one make sure it's at least a little conversation provoking material. The Topic Directory is also there for you to use to discuss and reference for important information you might be looking for.
Oversize Imagery & Titling If an image is so wide or lengthy you have to scroll to see the whole image, link it instead. Keep images you post no more than around 600x550. Link also if you are posting more than around 5 images. Also when you title your threads, don't make them so ridiculously long that they take up two lines unless it is really necessary. Just to note, you can always request to me to add extra information on the thread's subtitle as well.
Obey Threads Rules & All Warnings Please obey the rules and stipulations placed on individual threads. The rules of a single thread are there to ensure the thread is comfortable for everyone to look at without any problems. Also be sure to look out for warnings placed by us if there are any.
Do Not Try To Evade Bans If you are banned, you are banned. Period. meaning you have two choices; serve it, or give a a really good reason why your ban is unfair. If you are banned, DO NOT come back to this forum and start posting as a guest or with another account and think you are getting away. You are not, and if you are caught you will be reported to the forum administration and will have your posting rights permanently removed from the entire forum.
Obey the Forum-Wide Rules and Regulations Please obey the Forum-Wide Rules. The rules there are also to be obeyed and will be enforced. Also review the Terms of Use and FAQ. Failure to obey site-wide rules may result in severe consequences. It is best you go over all texts at some point to avoid inadvertently dumbassing in this forum and across all user applications on Neoseeker.
Don't Be A Dumbass Meaning use your common sense. We will try to be as tolerant as possible and we aren't going to be all technical with every rule. The rules are there mainly to keep you in check for what is right and wrong. However, testing the boundaries of our leniency will not be tolerated. Also just because other rules are not listed here doesn't make every other thing you can possibly do in this forum legal. Breaking rules may just result on a slap on the wrist at the very least. Being a dumbass and being a clear detriment to the fun and informative environment of this forum will definitely get you banned. Basically we expect you to all know right from wrong and that you all behave properly when posting in the forums. Edit: Oct 20, 09
