hey guys i dont know where to find the skulls please tell me the locations of the skulls if you know where it is and please also tell me if i find it in campaign mode or in multiplayer

There are 13 skulls hidden throughout the 9 Campaign levels. To get the names of the skulls, and written directions on where to find them, google Halo 3 Skull locations, or words to that effect.

Then, since some of the directions are a bit confusing to follow, go to youtube and type in the name of any skull you seek, for video guides to finding it. Watch several videos for each skull if possible, as they oftentimes demonstrate different methods of retrieving the skulls, and you can pick out the method you find easiest.

so what do the skulls actualy do then? do they make the game harder or give cool little extras like...unlimited ammo or something? or niether and are totaly random?

The Gold Skulls make the game harder and the Silver ones add in things that are funny.

so ive just looked at some on youtube. do you have to then carry every skull to the end of the level? or once you grab it it disapears or something?

The skulls are all found in multiplayer. To unlock a skull, you have to get a triple kill. Once you've got a triple kill, you have to get to the highest point on the map. Once you're there you should see the skull nearby.

I've heard that rumor, but I doubt its veracity. It doesn't really make sense why they would make it that way for just a few of the skulls.

(I could be wrong, though, as I had already completed the game on Normal, Heroic, and Legendary before I collected each of the 13 skulls.)

I think this is much more plausible than your original contention. I've also heard about a lot of players having difficulty in finding that skull.

There is another rumor going around that you have to collect the IWHBYD skull after you've collected the other 12 skulls, or else jumping through the proper sequence will not make the skull appear. I doubt this is true either. (But again, I can't say this for sure, because I did happen to save getting that skull for last. Not because of the rumor, but rather because it seemed to be the most difficult one to get.)
