re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money

Ok, I got over half a million gold septims by doing this so listen closely...

Make sure that you reach master level (100) of alchemy, and have some level of an alembric, mortar and pestle, calcinator, and retort (hint: the higher level of these, the more money you make from your potions). After you achieve all of this, then proceed to this...

Go to Skingrad and buy Rosethorn Hall and make sure you buy a servant's quarters and a kitchen. Then hire the servant (I think her name is Erana, or something like that) who can be found at Gunder's shop located somewhere close to Rosethorn Hall. After you have done this, proceed below...

Make sure you return to Rosethorn Hall and talk to Erana and she will bake you Shepherd's Pie. This is the awesome part... keep taking Shepherd's Pie until you have over 2000 (and they are free ), then make them into potions (since you are a master alchemist, you can make potions from one ingredient). Then take them (drag them, because the weight will be over 1000lbs) to another alchemist in Skingrad that will buy them (your best bet is Synderion, located in the basement of the West Weald Inn... I think that's the name of the store. He also is the same alchemist that does the study on Nirnroot).

You can keep doing this and easily reach over one million gold. This will come in handy for recharging items because of how costly they are to do so. Now you are the wealthiest merchant in Cyrodiil^_^

Yes, and dragging 2000 potions down a street wont take long.

No, the potions are the same type, so they form into one potion that says potion of fatigue (2000). You can drag them all at once^_^

re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money

Fast travel to inns and buy all there food items, then just churn out restore fatigue potions. You can go to the alchemy shops in the mages guild and other places as well.

What i do however is just wander the countryside with my alchemy equiptment, picking any flowers i see and making them into potions. Take your alchemy equiptment everywhere with you.

When i raid places, i am always able to make useful potions.

Undead - Ghosts drop ectoplasm which makes Shock poisons.
Caves - Cairn bolete plants everywhere which i can make into restore health potions. Willow wisp caps everywhere which i can turn into damage health potions.
Bandits - They drop potions anyway and usually have food items near their spawn.

Alchemy is a critical skill to have.

re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money

a problem i found with stealing from some shops, randiirs staffs in particular, is that after you steal the first time, he is always there as soon as you break in he runs down the stairs and tells you to get out

anyone noticed this?

re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money

No. Your sneak skill is just low. The weight of the item you are picking up (which would be high for a staff) determines how easily a person can hear you.
Think about it.
If you were to take 1 valuable gem from a counter with a weight of only 0.1, your not likely to be heard. compare this to picking up a magical battleaxe with a weight of 42.
Your probably going to be heard dragging that huge, lumbering axe off the counter and into your backpack.

Increase your sneak and it wont become a problem or aim for lighter objects.

re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money

For new low level characters Making and selling potions through the Alchemy skill is critical to easy wealth, steal food everywhere you go, raid farms for their vegetable crops [their crops grow back quickly and in large quantities] and make restore fatique potions sell them to the alchemists or the mages guild and you'll soon have enough to swim in.
Make sure you can carry your loot and potions around, i suggest a enchanted feather ring or feather spell.

Other options are the Arena, or Robbing everyone you can without getting caught [Imperial city market district, mages guild, the castles in the smaller cities-watch out for hidden doors and passages aplenty it's great FUN]

If you are working for the thieves guild steal from the castle barracks and private rooms -armour and jewellery sells for a great deal at the fences

Otherwise to summerise LIE- CHEAT and STEAL to acheive wealth! - you could do it the honest way -But where's the fun in that!

Happy Playing!
