I'm struggling for gold too but what I've found is raiding weapons shops is a great way to get some good gold. Stick witn Ognar in Bruma as your fence, raise up his Disposition to the max, raid every weapons shop in every town and sell them to Ognar. remarkable good way to get gold.
Also, there's a pirate ship in the Imperial City's waterfront that if you step on it the crew attacks you. Make sure you have some guards nearby then get on the ship, let the pirates die, then loot the ship and sell sell sell

Steal and sell everything. EVERYTHING. That includes silver goblets and books and shoes and anything worth even ONE gold piece. They make hella money in BULK.
I made 400,000 gp easily in Morrowind of of JUNK. It's a lot harder in Oblivion (lots of useless items worth 0 gp)... but if it sells for even ONE gold piece... and you have good Mercantile... it might sell for saaay.. 3 gp. Well, what if you have a hundred of those 3 gp shoes? that's 300 gp easily. ------------------- ![]() http://myspace.com/grandangel510

re: The Oblivion Guide to Easy Money |
quote yoyo_13You can sell most items to general merchants. And armor/weapons to blacksmith merchants. And alchemical items to alchemists. There are merchants in every major city. Just look on your map for titles that don't include "Somebody's House"... it's probably a store. The only exeption is stolen items (indictated by a red hand in your inventory). You must sell those to a "Fence." You can only sell stolen items to fences if you are part of the Thieves Guild. There are 5 fences, you gain access to more fences as you rise in the Guild. ------------------- ![]() http://myspace.com/grandangel510

this in my eyes is cheating but you can duplicate a very cheap light item like uhh potions of night eye and take them to the three brothers shop in the imperial city and just sell as much as possible for under 1000 gp.and do that till you don't have much left but make sure you have atleast 1 potion left so you can duplicate it again then sell them all over again and if you get over encumbered drop all but one and run over to the guy by holding it and then take it then talk to him and sell them. i got thousands in like 4 minutes.

Obviously duplicating items and selling them is easy money. It doesn't matter what item it is...
But we're talking about LEGIT ways to make some easy money. ------------------- ![]() http://myspace.com/grandangel510

There is a quest in the imperial city where some lady walks up to you and tells you to meet seridor at his house (something about it being of utmost importance to all of the citizens).
He tells you that he has a vampire hunting club and he wants you to kill a vampire. If you choose not to kill him, but kill seridor instead (after investigating), you can sell vampire dust to the guy you were supposed to kill for 250 gp each. Seeing as how you have to go through a cave full of vampires to get to seridor, you make a bunch of money right away. And you can always come back to him. I think I made about 3000gp just in that quest. -------------------

Yep, that seridur quest was my key to riches as well. Also, I enchanted a ring with a feather spell so I could haul more stuff out of dungeons on 1 trip.

Depending on your level, i would suggest searching for bandits and ruins, camps etc. Bandits can give away good armour and weapons for your level, and sometimes you might have more than one, in which case, sell one. Or if you're not interested in the armour, then sell it even if you don't have more than one.

If you don't mind a few in game days wait, the Shivering Isles can net you quite a bit of cash. Just ask Haskill about " Defend the realm" and he should either say everything is fine, or somewhere is under attack. If its the latter, you will be asked to either send guards or go alone. Either way you have to go and help dill the attacking creatures, and you get paid for the defense, 500gp with guards, but not sure what it is alone. Also, back in Cyrodiil, if you break into the skooma den, you can net about 1500gp just from taking all the skooma from the addicts and chests lying around.

quote The_Rock_Smackdownlol both great ideas that i use each time i start a char. Definately for lower levels (which is basically when people need money) stealing then selling to a fence in the thieves guild works best. forget those pesky little silver trinkets u find in homes, first i suggest that u rob the market district in the imperial city blind, hitting a fighting chance, the best defense, the staff place, then selling. in my opinion its the best way to make a couple of g's if u know how to do it right
