Look, Platy, you haven't seen everything that is going on, so you cannot really see that I do not start the problems as I said on the previous page of this thread. You have only seen a limited amount of the events. But regardless of all that, this issue between me and 3 other members of the forum has been handled now by the moderator and it should be over. There is to be no more arguing between us as this is a gaming forum and not an argument zone. All four of us got the PM today from ShadowJ making it clear that the arguing stops or we leave/get banned. As for my part: I am ok with not arguing with those guys now Platy. I will no longer let my confidence become over-bearing towards them if they want to argue that way.

I myself will keep it clean and fun as it should be here in this forum!

I think that, in general, a lot of people in this forum take things said here a bit too seriously. I'm not just talking to you either Coognut, I'm talking about everyone that has been involved in the many flame-fests that have taken place in this forum as of late. I don't really see any of them as one or another person being right. Rather, I think that both parties over-reacted.

I understand that you don't want to compromise your dignity or lose any respect, but why let what people say get to you? Does it really matter that much if some random person says XYZ about you? It sounds like some cheesy thing you'd hear in grade school, I know, but I really believe someone's opinion of you only has as much power as you allow it. Especially in a Inet forum. When someone says something insulting to you, if you can say "Well that's your opinion," and walk away, you've just rendered anything they said meaningless. The worst thing you can do is dignify them with a response, because you've just given their words power over you.

The best way to end an argument, especially here where, lets face it, they don't really matter, is not to "win" but to diffuse it. And if you're worried about losing face or dignity, let me ask you something.
Coognut, remember when you first joined the forum? I think I was the first person you fought with. You had taken exception to some things I said and responded a bit harshly. Instead of answering back with flaming posts or a heated argument, I apologized for inadvertently offending you and calmly explained my position. Result: situation diffused, we haven't had a problem since. My question is, Do you think less of me for the way I handled it? Did I lose dignity by not insisting that I "win"?

Nope, no Ritalin. (unless you got some for me...? LoL)

My grammer isn't as good because I blitzed some threads and did not care at the time. I also am truly a "laid back" type of guy at heart so when I am not pissed off or trying to impress someone you will see me shortcut a few words (like "prolly") from time to time. I posted in a bunch of threads all at once when I had some extra free time on my hands so that I could see my name next to every non-sticky thread on page one of the forum just for kicks.(always wanted to do that...)

There hasn't been any more arguments since a couple days ago when myself and the other three ppl that I was arguing with (Blue Phoenix, swk3000, skythelegend) all got a PM from the moderator stating that if we did not stop hostilities like that then we would be banned. I think it is pretty clear now that if they want to provoke problems with me or if I decide to smash them argumentitively again then the ban hammer is going to come crashing down on the offender(s) for the protection of the whole forum.

Problem solved huh?

(so now, where's that Ritalin? )
