So, this bloke is actually on the design team of Saint's Row? Quality!

Hhhmmm...can't think of any questions now that I'm put on the spot.

Is there any chance of telling us the basic button configuration? Or just a few key buttons? It's ok if you can't.

EDIT: Just thought of another one. Is it possible to get money from civillians like in GTA? If so, how does it work? Is it like GTA with floating money or do you pick it up off of them or something?

We have three different on foot and in vehicle control schemes (and yes you can mix and match to your hearts content). Due to time I can't list out what each button does but I will say we pretty much use all of the 360's available buttons.

Cash bundles will drop from dead NPCs.

I sent Chris an email, which he promptly referred me to this thread. So, here are some of my questions:

Player Customization

After watching almost every clip of gameplay you guys have released, in addition to numerous press releases and interviews, I am convinced that your player customization system is by far the most extensive I have seen in any game, in any genre, since the old days of Smackdown for PS2. That said, I'd like to know if it's actually advanced enough, with time and patience, to render a real-life face? Celebrities, friends, family-members, etc.

Also, can the character's voice be customized as well? Quite frankly, I would find it awkward listening to a Latino bad ass with a Caucasian-thug accent.

Finally, is it possible to render female characters using this system?


Gameplay "Enhancements"

Drugs. Plain and simple, as seen in this early gameplay screenshot:



Are they still available for use at this stage in development? Or have they be nixed to preserve the game's Mature rating in light of the Hot Coffee scandal and ESRB's stricter rating policies? If they are still available, would you mind elaborating on the key ones that will be available for use and the effects they will have on the gameplay experience. Marijuana, cocaine, LSD, alcohol (which is a chemical, and therefore a drug), ecstasy, etc.

EDIT: Also, I'd like to know if visible damage from gunfire can be seen on cars, i.e. bullet holes on the chasis, shattered-glass, deflated tires, etc.

You say Co-Op, are you referring to a split-screen system? Or is that on Online?

Couple more. There are two things that have really impressed me despite being very small details. However I have only seen either of them in one video. Can you confirm the following?

1. Car indicators. This stood out a mile for me in one video but I've not seen it since unless I'm being totally dense.

2. In car panic reactions. In one video it showed you shooting at a guy in a tractor type vehicle and the driver was moving about, and held his arm up to protect his face. It looked really cool. He then drove forward and crashed.

Questions (nothing major though)

1. When you are wasted or busted by the cop, where will you end up?? (ie, in GTA is hospital and police station)

2. How many wanted level are there in this game, and how do you lower them. (ie, GTA has 6, lower by bribe or spray paint your vehicle)

3. Is this demo going to be release in Australia as well??

Well not everything on live is international. US gets things we don't often.

I met the developer guy on the GTAIV thing, and I didn't believe him at first.
But after seeing his posts, I'm coming around.
I'll also be posting on this forum again.

Here are my questions.
(Some may be repeats of others').

:: What kind of music (genres) is in the game?

:: Does the main character's voice/accent change?

:: Does anything change based on the character's appearance?
(For example, will people comment if you're dressed as more as a street punk or businessman, and not 'gangsta', or make fun of you if you're fat).

:: Can I even make my character a punk or a rude boy (if you even know what that is), or are the clothes more "hood", like baggy pants and shirts. Or are there tighter clothes too?

:: What is the police system like? Is there something similar to wanted stars in GTA or a felony meter in Driver? Or does it just use common sense? (Like the more people you kill, the more force they use)

:: Will the police go after you for things like traffic violations or car accidents?

:: What happens when you die or get arrested? Can you get arrested, or do the cops just kill you? Do you respawn at a hospital/jail, or get a "Game Over" message?

:: Do cars blow up after too much gunfire or accidents? (For me, that gets annoying in games and movies. Cars don't actually explode from gunfire).


That's all I can think of for now.
