Log in to remove this sponsored message Harvest Moon FAQ This is strictly for Questions and Answers, so please don't ask random questions here. Make a new thread for that. Q: How do I get to the next level in the mines? A: When you enter the mine begin to search for a whole in the floor. When you have found it, walk to it and a box will pop up asking if you would like to go down. Select yes and you will be on floor two of the mine. Go to the various cracks on each floor to keep desending. Stand on the cracks and wait until you fall. Sometimes you will fall upward causing you to go up one or more floors. Q: How do I get to my items? A: On your controller move the yellow, "C" joystick to see your items. Press "X" when on your selected item to put it in your hands if it is an item, or to equip it if it is a tool. This message was edited by Sakura(moderator) on Jan 27 2007.

Q. What are the requirements to get married?
A. You have to have eight hearts with the person you want to marry. You also need a large bed, which requires a Level 3 house. Then the mayor will come the next day, and he will help you get the blue feather. Then you just need to propose. Q. I am not sure that they accepted the feather. How can I check? A. All you have to do is look through your tools and items. If you don't have it, someone accepted it. If you do, they didn't accept it. Q. When do I get married? A. The day after someone accepts the feather, you will get married. If there is a festival on that day, you will get married the day after the festival.

Q: Does it matter if Jamie is doing better than me?
A: No it doesnt matter if Jamie is doing better than you. Q: I just got my tool upgraded... how do I use it to it's full effect? A: You hold down the x button the character will get an angry symbol above their head. If you have it upgraded even higher continue holding the x button and your characters face will turn red and they will make a grunting noise. Q: I notice not everyone in the town goes to festivals, why is this? A: Yes its true that not everyone in town goes to the festivals but instead its the people who have the highest affection rating towards you. Q: How long does it take to get a villager up to one heart? A: If your giving them something they like it will take around five days. If you give them something they love it will take around 3 days. Q: Why wont Woody sell me the level 3 house? A: There are a few reasons why he might not be giving letting you upgrade. Your house has to be at level 2 and you must have one heart with either Woody, Kurt, or Joe. Q:What happens if I befriend the wild animals? A: It depends on the animal. If you befriend the Dolphin to one heart you can ride him over to an island that has better fishing, you also get a note from that. If you hit the mole with your hammer it will also give you a note. If you get any other animal that is on the list up to 4 hearts that animal will stop by your house the next day and give you a musical note. Keep in mind that this only happens the first time. Q: I keep running out of stamina and having to go to bed early. How do I last longer? A: You get a bigger stamina bar when you get a power berry. Eating food also is great help. Honey is a good resource to refill your stamina since it is found in most every season. But the the very FIRST time you faint from fatigue and wake up in the hospital you get a musical note. Q: Whats The Fastest Way To Make Money? A: Please look at the cheats section. Or look at old posts. This question is getting really old.... Okies? Next Question Please! >.< Q: What does everyone love or like? A: Okay this question gets asked quite a lot so I guess Ill list what everyone likes and loves and this list is not made by me the credit goes to the BradyGames Guide not me. Q:How do I meet Henry?
A:You will have an event where you meet Henry at the lake. After the Perch inn is open and you have planted three trees, go to the lake, and you should experience an event. (If anyone knows any more regarding this, please PM me, but so far it seems to have worked for me) Q:How do I get strawberries? A:You must sell 50 cabbages in order for Liz to make them available. Q: Are there any tricks to mining? A: There's probably more than one, but so far I've noticed a few things. When you want to find the staircase (while using your hoe) you can often find it before digging. Walk around slowly and look closely at the ground. When you move, one of the edges to a square kind of appear and disappear and are rather pixelated. Whatever square that has the weird edges when you move, if you hoe, you will find the staircase to the next level. It's a little tricky at first, but once you get better at spotting it, you can find the staircase easily. Q: How can I get power berries?
A: There are 5 ways to get power berries and they are listed below: Horse Race- Get a horse to 5 or 6 hearts worth of affection and enter it in the Spring or Fall Horse Race. Win that race and you receive a Power Berry the first time. Beach Festival- Win the Beach Festival swimming competition for the first time, and you are awarded with a Power Berry. Pumpkin Festival- Make sure you ship a pumpkin in the week before the Pumpkin Festival, and on the day of the festivities you receive a Power Berry from the Mayor. 30 Notes- Obtain 30 of your musical notes and visit the Harvest Goddess Spring to claim your reward. Moonlight Mine Bottom- Reach the 100th floor of the Moonlight Mine to receive a Power Berry from Tim. ---------- Q: What do the Mine Gasses do? A: The mine gasses have different effects depending on the color: Black Gas- The light begins to dim until you can only see a small circle around the character Purple Gas- The character becomes confused, and moves in different directions that you input with the controller Orange Gas- The character is temporarily frozen and cannot move Yellow Gas- The character's movements speed up, allowing him or her to move very quickly around the floor Pink Gas- Some of the character's stamina is restored White Gas- This very rare gas removes any other gas effects ---------- Q: Can I find certain ores/gems on certain floors of Moonlight Cave? A: Yes, they are listed below: 2- The floor is filled with good clay that can be dug up with a hoe 22- This is a good floor to obtain amethysts, one of the types of gemstones 44- Come here for a good chance to find rare ore, which is used in upgrades, as gifts, and for bringing in the Blacksmith 55- This is another good place to find amethysts 66- You can find many of the aquamarine gems here 77- Come here to find diamonds without traveling to the Lake Cave (Floor 100 has a large amount of gold coins that you can dig up) ---------- Q: Can I find certain ores/gems on certain floors of Lake Cave? Q: What are the Rival Pairs and how do I see their cutscenes?
A: The rival pairs are listed below: "While you may woo and mary one of the potential spouses of the opposite gender, the love lives of the rest of the characters aren't standing still. Each potential bride is matched to one of the grooms, and as you progress in the game this match may start to show itself. The events involving these rivals appear when you get the rival to five hearts in his or her affection meter, but only if you haven't yet gotten their "match" to five hearts yet. For example, Gwen is matched with Bob, so if you play a male character, you view the rival even when you enter the Perch Inn (after getting Bob to four hearts and Gwen is below four hearts, and you've recieved her second gift). If you get Gwen to four hearts first, you see no extra event." The following is the rivalry pairs and, and the location where the event takes place. Alex and Gina: Clinic Basil and NIna: Shed in back of Spring Farm Blue and Ann: Junk Shop Bob and Gwen: Perch Inn Carl and Ellen: Callaway Cafe Dan and Eve: Paradise Orchard Joe and Katie: Callaway Cafe Kurt and Dia: Sanatorium Louis and Lyla: Hearty Lyla Ray and Maria: Flower Bud Library Information from the Bradygames Strategy Guide

Musical Notes
Collecting Musical Notes is only one of the goals in Magical Melody, despite the name of this Harvest Moon game, and in fact, the primary purpose of the Notes, which is to bring the Harvest Goddess back to life, is fulfilled when you obtain only 50 of these Notes. The order in which you collect the notes has no particular significance. Basically, each note is given for a specific accomplishment. Some are more important than others in terms of your farm and your life, but they are equal in terms of their effect on the Harvest Goddess. There are a couple of different stages with respect to this collection: When you collect 5 notes and visit the Harvest Goddess, you will experience a scene wherein these notes combine to create a musical instrument: Arthur: Congratulations, yeah! When you collect five notes they become a musical instrument.' (You leap for joy) Arthur: They turned into a marimba, yeah! Carlos: I want you to collect more notes, yeah! The second 5 notes become a timpani drum. The third set of 5 notes becomes a harp. The fourth set of 5 notes becomes a piano. The fifth set of 5 notes becomes a violin. The sixth set of 5 notes became a cello. The seventh set of 5 notes became a flute. The eighth set of 5 notes became an acoustic guitar. The ninth set of 5 notes became a trumpet. After the cello is created, you will receive a red Power Berry from the Harvest Sprites for your good work in collecting the first 30 notes. Power Berries increase your Stamina. Thus, collecting 30 Musical Notes should be a priority in this game. When you have received 50 notes, return to the Goddess Spring and you will be surprised by a scene wherein the spell that transformed the Harvest Goddess to stone is broken and she is restored to her vibrant self. Typically, Natsume has created a false ending for the game, as the credits will roll and you may feel disappointed that the game has come to an end. This is not the case, however, as after this, the Harvest Sprites will tell you to continue to collect Musical Notes. There is a reward for having brought the Harvest Goddess back to life. From this point forward, whenever you visit the Spring, your energy will be fully restored! Musical Notes are obtained from various activities. As you can see, they basically celebrate every major accomplishment as well as individual characters with whom you form relationships. In a way, the Musical Notes take the place of the Farming Degree in MFoMT. You will receive a Musical Note from each bachelor and each eligible girl when you reach a level of 3 hearts and experience an event. You receive a Musical Note when you attend a Festival for the first time. Other accomplishments are marked with a Musical Note. Some Musical Notes are given for rather bizarre acts, such as standing still or drinking 10 sodas on a single occasion at the Moonlight Cafe. N.B. Many Musical Notes are given for shipping a certain quantity of a specific item. My own advice is to use those items instead to make recipes to ship at the beginning of the game when you are short on cash. There are other Musical Notes that you can obtain easily in order to win the Power Berry. Wait until you have plenty of money before shipping the items that you need to gain the appropriate Musical Notes. For example, the Shearing Note is obtained by shipping 10 units of Wool. If you are trying to obtain the large Rucksack from Martha, you will want to purchase the Yarn Maker as soon as possible. Having done this, it would be wasteful to ship any Wool. It would be far more profitable to the Wool into Yarn before shipping it. You therefore may wish to wait to ship any Wool until later in the game when you no longer need to worry about obtaining the maximum profit for every item. Each Musical Note is given with a little philosophical phrase: First Step Note Received when you got your pedometer. It's difficult to take the first step no matter what you are doing. He often makes you upset, but you feel like you were able to bond with him a bit. Order in which you obtain Musical Notes This is simply a suggestion because there is no time limit with respect to collection of notes and you can obtain them in any order, but some notes are easier than others to collect and it may be wise to collect those notes first in order to obtain the Power Berry. Basic Action Notes These are Notes that are obtained for performing very basic actions. They require little effort and therefore should be the first Notes you collect: 1. First Step Note Received when you got your pedometer. This is the first note you will obtain in any case, as it requires only that you take a step. 2. First Shipping Note Received with your first shipping box shipment. All you need to do is place one item in the shipping container to receive this note, so it should be one of the first. 3. Stationary Note Received for no Controller inputs for a long time. All you need to do for this note is stand still for a few moments. This should be one of the first you collect. 4. Lone Wolf Note Received for not talking to any one all day. Especially at the start of the game, when you are desperate to make money, it is very easy to spend one day alone, speaking to no one. You need not even do this deliberately, but it should be an easy note to obtain. 5. Limitation Note Received for a zero strength. You obtain this note by fainting and ending up at the Clinic. This is easy to do at the start of the game when your Stamina is low and it takes very little to deplete the Energy Bar. 6. Night Owl Note Received for staying up until dawn. This is another easy note to obtain at the start of the game, as you may find that you have worked until dawn in the Moonlight Mine without accomplishing a great deal! This is not recommended as a general course of action but it is worth doing once at the start to collect the Note. 7. Sun Note Received for working 10 hours non-stop in the sun. The Rain Note and the Sun Note basically are the same, apart from weather requirements. It is not difficult to stay outside for 10 hours in any type of weather. You must stay outside, however, for the entire period. Entering a building will mean that you will not obtain the note. 8. Rain Note Received for working 10 hours non-stop in the rain. I have listed this one after the Sun Note only because there is a greater probability that you will have Fair Weather than Rain in the Spring season. You therefore probably will be able to collect the Sun Note first. In any event, remember only that you have to stay outside for 10 hours. Entering any building, including your own house will disqualify you. 9. Cloud Note Received for working 10 hrs. on a cloudy day. Like the Sun, Rain and Snow Notes, this is obtained by staying outside for 10 hours on a cloudy day. You will find the weather conditions listed on the television's weather channel. Make certain that you do not enter any building during this period as that will disqualify you. 10. Snow Note Received for working 10 hours straight in the snow. I do not think this will be one of the first 30 notes that you obtain, simply because snow occurs only during the Winter Season but I am listing this note here as it is one of the four 'Weather Notes', and the same conditions apply as to the Sun, Rain and Cloud Notes. 11. Cooking Note Received when you made your first food. Cooking for the first time. Using a knife to make sashimi is considered 'cooking'. After catching your first fish, make it into sashimi to obtain this Note. There are a few fish that cannot be made into sashimi, but most of them can. It is suggested that you obtain all cooking implements from the Junk Shop as soon as possible, however, as this will result in more Magical Notes as well as giving you more food to restore your energy and increase your income. 12. Gem Note Received for shipping any one gem. This note is given for shipping any gem, including a Moonstone, which is not a difficult gem to find in the Moonlight Mine. It is highly recommended that you spend some time mining from the very start of the game. It is a great source of income and it will help you 'level up' your Hammer and Hoe. Using your Hoe, you can find Pontata Root, Good Clay and coins in the Mines. Pontata root is an excellent source of energy. Shipping Good Clay will bring Saibara to the village. Coins found in the ground are not a primary source of income but everything counts at this stage! There is a Musical Note to be collected when you have found 1000G in the earth but that probably will not be one of the first 30 that you collect. 13. Poor Note Received for having 100G or less in the morning. This can be one of the first notes you obtain or can be obtained much later in the game if you would rather not use all your money at the start of the game. The catch here is the fact that you basically cannot ship ANY item if you want to obtain this note. It is easy enough to spend all the money you have, but to fail to ship anything means that you will have no money the next day which is when you qualify for this note. I personally would rather wait until later in the game to obtain this, when I have met all my basic requirements. It can be easily obtained by purchasing more properties on a single day later in the game. I am listing it here, however, because it is very easy to obtain if you are willing to be broke for an entire day early in the game. 14. Diary Note Received for 30 diary saves. This is one of the easiest notes to obtain if you are accustomed to saving frequently. You actually could cheat a little and simply save your game again and again standing in front of the table on a single occasion, overwriting your game repeatedly until you obtain the Note. Frequent saving of the game is recommended, however, simply because you will be able to quit the game without saving if you make some terrible error, knowing that you will not lose an entire day's work by doing so! 15. Fire Prevention Note Received for putting out your first fire. By using the Bonfire Set and then using the Watering Can afterwards to put out the fire, you will obtain this Note. The Bonfire Set is a very useful item. When you are fishing and need energy quickly, simply use the Bonfire Set to cook all your fish. Unprepared fish cannot be eaten, but fish thrown on the bonfire can. Obviously you will not be able to do this when it is raining or snowing but at any other time, it can be very useful. It certainly should be one of the first notes you collect. 16. Big Eater Note Received for eating 50 meals. Eating a single item counts as a meal. By eating items frequently to replenish your strength, you can obtain this Note within the first week of the game. It is not suggested that you eat items simply in order to collect the Note but it should not take long. Festival Notes Many notes are received simply by attending a Festival for the first time. Obviously as Festivals occur in every Season, some of these Notes cannot be collected until you reach the Season in which the Festival takes place but I am listing them all here. As you can see, there are 13 Notes that are given for nothing more than the act of showing up at a Festival: 17. Spring Footsteps Note Received for attending New Year Festival. I am listing these Notes in chronological order, but this one cannot be obtained until the 1st day of your second year, as you will start the game AFTER the New year Festival in your first year. 18. Egg Dish Note Received for attending the Egg Festival. This is the first Festival note actually that you can receive. Simply go to the Village Square on the day of the Egg Festival to obtain it. 19. Spring Fragrance Note Received for attending the Flower Festival. This is the second Festival note you should be able to obtain simply by attending this Spring Festival, provided that you have placed one flower in the collection box during the week preceding the Festival. 20. Boat Sailing Note Received for attending the Star Festival. Accept the invitation and meet your partner in the Square to obtain this Note. 21. Firefly Flower Note Received for attending the Firefly Festival. Here again, you must place an item in the Collection box during the week preceding the Festival to guarantee that the Festival will occur. Having done so, simply go to Moonlight Beach for the Festival to obtain this Note. 22. Fireworks Note Received for attending the Fireworks Festival. This is another Summer Festival that takes place at Moonlight Beach. Simply attend in order to receive the Note. 23. Moon Viewing Note Received for attending the Moon Festival. Accept the invitation and meet your partner in the Square to experience this Festival and obtain the Note. 24. Harvest Note Received for attending the Harvest Festival. Again, you must place at least one crop in the shipping container in the Square in order to guarantee that this festival will occur. Having done so, simply go to the Square to attend the Festival and obtain the Note. 25. Pumpkin Note Received for attending the Pumpkin Festival. Place one pumpkin in the shipping container in the Square to guarantee that the Festival will occur. When you attend for the first time, you will receive both a Note and a Power Berry! 26. Flame Note Received for attending the Firefly Festival. You must place one stake in the collection box in the Square during the week prior to the Festival to guarantee that this Festival will occur. After doing so, simply go to Moonlight Beach on the day of the Festival to obtain this Note. 27. Starlight Note Received for attending the Starry Night Festival. Accept the invitation and meet your partner in the Square to experience the event and obtain this Note. 28. New Year's Sunrise Note Received for seeing the first sunrise of the year. Choose a partner and meet him/her in the Square to experience this event and obtain the Note. Easy Achievement Notes 29. Super Chef Note Received for collecting 100 or more recipes. All you need to do to obtain this Note is to buy all the Cooking Implements at the Junk Shop. You do not have to obtain the special recipes from characters when they reach 5 hearts to gain this Note, nor do you need to actually make the dishes. It is the capacity to make them that counts here. 30. Destruction Note Received for crushing stones, rocks, stakes, etc. This actually can be one of the easiest Notes to obtain and only requires that you do a bit of mining. By smashing rocks in the Moonlight Mine, you will earn this Note quickly. It can be earned in other ways by using your hammer on rocks outside the Mines but mining is a profitable and useful activity. 31. Treasure Hoard Note Received for shipping each type of ore. This is fairly easy to obtain as all you need to do is ship every ore that is found in the Moonlight Mine as well as Moonstone. It is not necessary to ship the rare gems from the Lake Mine to gain this note. 32. Full Bloom Flowers Note Received for shipping each type of flower and herb. This Note simply requires that you ship one of every type of flower and herb. You will not be able to obtain it before Autumn because you need to be able to ship flowers and herbs available in each season but you should have it before the end of Autumn in your first year. 33. Animal Kingdom Note Received for raising barn animals and a chicken. You need a chicken coop, a barn and one of each type of animal to gain this Note. Farming Notes 34. Whistle Note Received for finger whistling 50 times. You can bring your horse, dog or pig to you by whistling, using the L Button. This is a Note that you can gain quickly by whistling again and again or gradually in the natural course of events, depending on how desperate you are for a Note. 35. Calling Animals Note Received for ringing the cow bell 20 times. You can ring the bell 20 times on a single occasion actually in order to receive this note. If you are in need of notes, buy a bell and ring it 20 times inside the barn! On the other hand, if you enjoy the business of herding your animals in and out of the barn, you can use it on a daily basis and earn the Note gradually. 36. Egg Note Received for 10 eggs shipped. You probably will be able to afford a chicken before you can purchase any livestock so this may be one of your first Farming Notes. Simply ship 10 eggs to gain it. Any type of egg counts for this purpose. 37. Fodder Note Received for cutting the grass 20 times. This is not a difficult note to obtain but you will need to grow grass in order to be able to cut it. You either can grow two plots of 3 x 3 squares and cut that twice or you can grow one plot of 3 x 3 squares and cut it repeatedly to obtain this note. 38. Brushing Note Received for grooming livestock 20 times. You will need a Brush, purchased at the Blue Sky Ranch, if you wish to earn this Note. Brushing your livestock raises their heart levels. It is good to brush an animal every day until he/she reaches 10 hearts. Hearts are lost when you fail to feed an animal or leave him/her outside in bad weather but you can lose a heart as well if you never groom the animal. 39. Milking Note Received for 10 milk units shipped. The Milking Note is easier to obtain than the Shearing Note as a cow can be milked daily once she becomes an adult. It will require only ten days of milking one cow, provided you ship the Milk, to gain this note. 40. Birth of Life Note Received for your first baby animal birth. By using the Miracle Potion on one of your Animals, you will receive this Note when the baby is born. 41. Shearing Note Received for 10 wool units shipped. I am listing this here, although I personally recommend waiting until later in the game to obtain this note. A sheep can be sheared once in a week. At the very least, it will take two and a half months to obtain this Note if you have only one sheep and ship all the wool it gives. My own preference, early in the game, is to save the wool until I can buy a Yarn Maker and then make all the wool into yarn to ship as yarn is far more valuable than wool. Every player has his/her own preference, however, and this is not a difficult note to obtain. 42. Dyeing Note Received for 1 coloured yarn ball shipped. Ideally, you will need a barn, a Sheep, a Yarn Maker and a Dye Pot to obtain this Note but in fact it is possible to cheat with this one. You can buy a ball of dyed yarn at the Hearty Lyla Gift Shop and ship that if you are desperate to obtain this Note. On the other hand, a Yarn Maker is a good investment and dying your own yarn can be fun and profitable, especially in the case of Dull Yarn. 43. Gardening Note Received for five flowers blooming at once. All you need to do is plant one bag of flower seeds. If you water even 5 squares each day, you will receive this note when the flowers bloom. 44. Forest Note Received for planting one tree. All you need to do to receive this note is to plant a single tree. Planting an orange tree at the start of the Summer season will give you a Note and it will give you one or two oranges as well before Autumn. 45. Cultivation Note Received for tilling 100 squares. This Note simply requires a bit of effort. A plot is 3 x 3 squares, which equals 9. You have to till almost 10 plots to obtain this note. To till a plot, you must make certain that the ground is clear, which means that all weeds and stones must be removed first. In tilling the land with your hoe, you may find coins as a bonus. 46. Weed Note Received for pulling 100 weeds. This is another Note that simply requires a bit of effort. You can earn it as quickly as you like, as long as you have enough energy to pull weeds. Energy is at a premium at the start of the game so you will have to decide where to use the small amount of energy you have. Pulling weeds (which actually means picking them up and throwing them, always making certain NOT to litter) is a necessity if you wish to till the soil, so you can earn this Note gradually as you clear more of your land for crops or you can earn it quickly by destroying every weed on your property before you ever begin to plant. I recommend a more gradual approach to this note as you need to make money on a daily basis and pulling weeds is not profitable. 47. Woodcutter Note Received for cutting 20 trees or stumps. Lumber is a necessity if you wish to expand your house or build a chicken coop or barn. The only problem as always is lack of energy and time. If you can cut a few branches each day, you can earn this Note and acquire lumber for building projects at the same time. 48. Owner of Mother Earth Note Received for owning 10 or more divisions. I am listing this note here as it deals with Farming but it is probably one that you will not obtain as early as some of those that follow in the 'Heart Level' Notes section. It requires the ownership of 10 lots of property and you will need to have a fair sum of money to be able to afford to purchase this much land. Heart Level Notes When you reach 3 hearts with any eligible girl or bachelor (whatever your gender), you will receive a visit, a gift and a Musical Note. The following Notes are given in the order in which they appear in your Notes Menu. 49. Flower Girl Note Received when Nina gives you a present. Nina is Liz's daughter and she can be found most often at the Spring Farm. Her gift is Honey. 50. Explosive Girl Note Received when Ann gives you a present. Ann is Michael's daughter and she can be found most of the time at the Junk Shop. She loves to explore the mines and can be found on the ground floor of the Moonlight Mine often. Her gift to you is Good Clay. 51. Apron Girl Note Received when Ellen gives you a present. Ellen is Hank's daughter and Blue's cousin. She can be found most often at the Blue Sky Ranch. Her gift to you is Char Sashimi, which ships for 100G. 52. Talented Girl Note Received when Maria gives you a present. Maria is the daughter of Theodore, mayor of Flower Bud Village. Maria is the local librarian. She can be found at the Library during opening hours and at the Mayor's house at other times. Her gift to you is Pickled Cabbage. 53. Night Moon Note Received when Eve gives you a present. Eve is the granddaughter of Terry and the niece of Duke, who owns and runs the Moonlight Cafe. She can be found between 6.00 p.m. and midnight at the Moonlight Cafe. At other times, she can be found at many of the scenic spots in the village, often by the seashore or the Lake. Her gift to you is Very Berry Soda. An attractive belle who's cheerful. And those sad eyes she shows sometimes are attractive, too. 54. Girl with Glasses Note Received when Gina gives you a present. Gina moves to Flower Bud Village when Alex expands his Clinic to include a Sanatorium. She is a nurse who cares for Dia. She can be found either at the Clinic or the Sanatorium. On Wednesdays, when the Clinic is shut, you may find her at the Junk Shop. Her gift to you is a Milkshake. 55. Princess Note Received when Dia gives you a present. Dia is a troubled young girl who stays at the Sanatorium. She usually will be either at the Clinic or the upper floor of the Sanatorium. Sometimes she can be found in the Forest outside the Workshop. She is very shy and may appear arrogant until you raise her heart level. Her gift to you is Blueberries. 56. Waitress Note Received when Katie gives you a present. Katie works at the Cafe Callaway as a waitress. She can be found outside the Cafe Callaway in the morning before it opens and inside the Cafe itself during business hours. Her gift to you is Yogurt, shipping for 540G. 57. Ponytail Note Received when Gwen gives you a present. Gwen is the cook at the Perch Inn. She loves horses and often will compete in the Horse Races. She can be found in the kitchen at the Perch Inn during most hours but will be found often outside the Workshop between 1.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. Her gift to you is an Omelette with shipping value of 620G. 58. Heartfelt Note Received when Lyla gives you a present. (Wool) Lyla loves flowers and when you have shipped flowers, she will open the Hearty Lyla Gift Shop at the eastern border of Flower Bud Village. Her gift to you is Wool. 59. Cowboy Note Received when Blue gives you a present. Blue is Hank's nephew and Ellen's cousin. He works at the Blue Sky Ranch with Bob and can be found there during the day, either outside in the pasture or in one of the back rooms. He can be found in the evening at the Moonlight Cafe. His gift to you at 3 hearts is Milk, shipping at 140G. At 5 hearts, he will give you a Sapphire Brooch. 60. Social Craftsman Note Received when Joe gives you a present. Joe is Woody's apprentice. He works with his brother Kurt at the Workshop. He can be found there during opening hours. As he is a sociable chap, he often can be found at the Cafe Callaway at lunchtime. On his day off, he likes to fish and can be found near the river. His gift to you at 3 hearts is Dace. At 5 hearts, he will give you a Coral Brooch with shipping value of 1035G. 61. Cool Craftsman Note Received when Kurt gives you a present. Kurt is Woody's apprentice and he works with his brother Joe at the Workshop. He can be found there during opening hours. He is quiet and prefers mining to socialising. His gift to you at 3 hearts is Red Herb and at 5 hearts he will give you an Aquamarine Brooch. 62. Doctor Note Received when the Doctor gives you a present. The Doctor is one of the most serious characters in Flower Bud Village with a passion for health. He can be found at the Clinic most of the time. On Wednesday, when the Clinic is shut, he can be found outside or on the ground floor of the Moonlight Mine. His gift to you is Purple herb. At 5 hearts, he will give you a Potion. 63. Patissier Note Received when Carl gives you a present. Carl will be found at the Moonlight Cafe initially, where he works as a waiter. He soon will achieve his ambition of opening his own Cafe and from that point will be found at the Cafe Callaway during business hours. His gift to you at 3 hearts is Pudding, shipping for 390G. At 5 hearts, he will give you Chestnut Pie, shipping for 900G. 64. Master Pick-Up Artist Note Received when Dan gives you a present. Dan is a gambler who, after he is hired to help at the Vineyard, slowly discovers the joys of working towards a worthy goal. His gift to you at 3 hearts is Apple Soda, shipping for 740G. At 5 hearts, he will give you Grape Soda. 65. Fisherman Note Received when Ray gives you a present. Ray is a professional fisherman with a television show that airs on Wednesdays. His life quest is the quest for the King Fish, actually not that difficult to catch if you pay attention to the clues he gives you. (King Fish, apart from the Jamasquid, can be caught on the day after it rains.) Ray can be found wandering about the village, usually near a good fishing spot. He can be found by the lake, the shore of the sea, near the waterfall or on the Island. Oddly enough, he can be found outside the Moonlight Mine in the morning. His gift to you when you reach 3 hearts with him is an Amago fish. He will give you Salmon Meuniere, shipping at a value of 610G when you reach 5 hearts. 66. Traveler Note Received when Basil gives you a present. Basil is a 'plant hunter'. He brings flowers and herbs to Lyla after she opens the Hearty Lyla Gift Shop. He has no permanent address but 'follows the sun' and will leave Flower Bud Village at the beginning of Winter and return on the 1st of Spring. Basil can be found in the Forest, by the Lake, in the Mine or on any road. At 3 hearts, he will give you Limestone, the essential ingredient in Fertiliser. At 5 hearts, he will give you 'Orange Heart Perfume', known also as Orange Balm, with a shipping value of 460G. 67. Male Note Received when Bob gives you a present. Bob is Tim's big brother and Tai is their grandfather. He works at the Blue Sky Ranch and his ambition is to have his own horse ranch one day. He is quiet and good-natured. Bob can be found in the pasture at the Blue Sky Ranch during the day. At lunchtime and in the early afternoon, he can be found either at the Perch Inn or at the Cafe Callaway. At 3 hearts, he will give you a Good Egg. At 5 hearts, he will give you a Topaz Brooch. 68. Shy Guy Note Received when Louis gives you a present. Louis can be a little elusive at the beginning of the game. He does not have a permanent home in Flower Bud Valley and can be found only occasionally in the Square or on the ground floor of the Moonlight Mine. Later, when you have raised his heart level and the Junk Shop has expanded to include a second floor, Louis will work there with Ann creating new inventions. He then will be found at the Junk Shop during business hours, although you still will find him frequently at the Moonlight Mine both during the day and at night. He is one of the few individuals to be found at the Moonlight Mine after dark. At 3 hearts, he will give you Silver Ore. At 5 hearts, he will give you the Medicine known as 'Caffeine'. Villager Notes: 69. Hustle-and-Bustle Note Received after meeting 35 villagers. This note is given when you have met 35 villagers. It is required only that you meet them in order to obtain the Note. 70. Popular Note Received for receiving 5 cakes at Thanksgiving. If you have raised the heart levels of people in Forget-Me-Not Village and speak to them on the occasion of Thanksgiving on 12 Winter, you should have no trouble obtaining this note. Give Cake to as many of your friends as possible. 71. Art Note Received by getting a picture and an aging pot. I have listed this in this section because it is friendship with Saibara and Henry that makes it possible to obtain the picture and the aging pot. The aging pot is a gift from Saibara when you trigger an event at his studio. The Picture becomes available at the Hearty Lyla Gift Shop when you attain 5 hearts with Henry, but if you are patient and continue to raise his heart level, he will give it to you as a gift. Animal Notes: 72. Island Note Received when you went to the Island for the first time. You need at least 1 heart with the Dolphin before he will offer you the option to ride to the Island. Give the Dolphin fish to raise his heart level, or at least wave to him from the end of the pier. 73. Bow-Wow Note Received for a dog friendliness level with 3 hearts. You need not feed your dog to raise his heart level but make certain to pick him up once each day 74. Wild Note Received for a wild animal visiting your home. When you have met all the Animals and reach six hearts with one, you will experience an event wherein the Animal visits you and you will obtain this Note. Competition Notes The following Notes are obtained when you win a Contest for the first time. 75. Blue Sea, White Clouds Note Received for winning at the Beach Festival. The first time you win the Swimming Contest at the Beach Festival, you will obtain this Note and a Power Berry. You can win this contest in your first year. This is a real contest, and you must touch all four buoys in the pool before any other contestant in order to win. You will win a Power Berry the first time you win this Contest. After that, you will win a Prize of Lumber. 76. Cock-a-Doodle Doo Note Received for winning the Chicken Contest. It is only possible to win this contest when you have a chicken with a heart level of 9-10. This is not a 'contest' in the manner of the Chicken Contest in FoMT/MFoMT but simply a judgement based on heart level. 77. Moo Note Received for winning the Cow Contest. It is only possible to win this contest when you have a Cow with a heart level of 9-10. Again, this is not a real contest, and you will win automatically if your Cow has a heart level of 9-10. The Cow must be healthy and cannot be pregnant in order to qualify. 78. Baa Note Received for winning the Sheep Contest. It is only possible to win this contest when you have a Sheep with a heart level of 9-10. Like the other Animal Contests, winning is automatic if you have a Sheep with a heart level of 9-10. There is another requirement, however. Only a sheep who is healthy, unshorn and not pregnant is eligible to enter the contest. As a Sheep can be shorn once each week, make certain that you do NOT shear your Sheep during the week preceding this Contest. 79. Horse Race Note Received for winning the Horse Race. There are four different ranks of Horse Race and you will obtain this Note by winning any of them. Heart level determines the Rank but training, strategy and luck determine the outcome of any race. Your best chance of winning any horse race is to have the maximum number of Training Stars, as 10 stars will fill your Energy Bar completely. The first time you win the Rank C Horse Race, you will win a Power Berry. After that, the prize will be 2000G. There is a different prize for winning each Rank of Horse Race. Family Life Notes 80. Bluebird Note Received for getting a Blue Feather. You must have upgraded your First House to a Level 3 house and have purchased the Large Bed before you will experience the Blue Feather event. You then must climb to the top of Mt. Moon in order to claim the Blue Feather and obtain this Musical Note. 81. Wedding Day Note Received for holding a wedding. Your wedding ordinarily will occur a day after your marriage proposal is accepted by a bachelor or eligible girl with heart level of 9-10. You will receive this Note after the wedding event on Starry Hill. 82. Stork Note Received for having a baby. If your spouse has a heart level of 10, you will become pregnant about 20 days after your wedding. You will receive this Note after the event that announces your pregnancy. 83. Baby is Born Note Received for a baby being born. Your child will be born about 2 seasons after the announcement of your pregnancy. After experiencing the birth event, you will receive this Note. 84. You Can Walk Note When two seasons have passed since the birth of your child, you will receive this Note. You will experience an event at the Clinic upon awakening and this Note will be obtained at the end of the event. Achievement Notes 85. 10,000 Steps Note Received after 10,000 Steps with your pedometer. You must have your pedometer in your rucksack if you wish for your 'step' to be counted. When you have taken 10,000 Steps with the pedometer in your rucksack, you will receive this Note. 86. Rubber Boots Note Received for catching 10 pieces of garbage. This is one of those Notes that depends upon Luck. If you catch Fish rather than rubbish, it will take some time to obtain this Note. If, however, you catch rubbish each time you go fishing, it will not take long. 87. Master Angler Note Received for catching 100 or more fish. This note is given when you have caught 100 fish. It does not matter whether or not you have caught 'all kinds of fish' actually. It simply is a reward for catching 100 fish. The 'Expert Angler Note' is the reward for catching every kind of fish. 88. Second House Note Received for constructing a second home. This is obtained by building a new house at another location and not by upgrading your First House. 89. Rock Climber Note Received the first time you scaled Mt. Moon. If you climb Mt. Moon at any point and reach the summit, you will obtain this Musical Note, but many players prefer to wait until the Blue Feather event when climbing to the top is a necessity. 90. Underground Lake Note Received at the 100th underground level. This Note is obtained when you reach the lowest level of the Lake Mine and find the Underground Lake for the first time. (You need not catch the Jamasquid to receive this Note.) 91. Lucky Note Received for finding more than 1000G from coins. This Note is obtained when the total value of the coins that you have found by using your hoe reaches 1000G. Coins can be found by tilling the soil or by digging in the Mines. 92. High Spirit Note Received for drinking soda 10 times or more. This is one of the odder Notes that can be obtained. By drinking 10 sodas at the Moonlight Cafe, you will receive this note. You will become extremely sleepy each time you drink soda so be forewarned! 93. Garbage Can Note Received for throwing away garbage 20 times. You can obtain this note by throwing away rubbish that you 'catch' when fishing and/ore by throwing weeds into the rubbish bin. 94. Oink-Oink Note Received for your first Truffle shipment. When your pig finds his first truffle and you ship it, you will obtain this Note. If you do not ship the Truffle, you will not receive the Note, so it may be best to ship the first truffle that he finds. Incidentally, if you wish to find Truffles, you must take your pig outside in Autumn. Truffles are found beneath trees. When the pig is hunting, you will see a question mark above his head. When he finds something, it will become an exclamation point. He will dig furiously, uncovering a truffle. Pick it up to collect it, but do so quickly or the pig will eat it himself! 95. Lost Child Note Received for finding a lost child. You cannot receive this Note until Meryl moves into the Paradise Orchard. She and Tim will become lost one night and you will experience an event wherein you find them and rescue them from the Wild Dog. It is possible that at least 1 heart is required both with Meryl and with Tim before this event will be triggered. 96. Mole-Whacking Note Received for whacking 10 moles. This note depends upon Luck more than anything else. The appearance of a Mole is entirely random. You cannot whack a mole that does not appear. If you are fortunate, you will obtain this Note quickly but if you encounter Moles very seldom, it may be one of the last Notes that you obtain. Incidentally, if you play this game with the volume turned down or off, you will not notice the Mole easily. It is the sound that the mole makes, rather similar to the sound of the wheel of the windmill turning, that alerts you to the appearance of the Mole in the area. You often will hear him rather than see him at first. 97. Book Note Received for reading all books. Books exhibited in the Library change from season to season. If you make certain to read every book that you find, you will obtain this Note. Books read at the Library can be accessed from your 'Bookshelf' or 'Library at home. 98. Expert Angler Note Received for catching each type of fish. This Note requires that you catch every variety of fish to be found at every location in Flower Bud Valley, including the Underground Lake on the lowest level of the Lake Mine. 99. Very Rich Note Received when you have more than 100,000G. This Note is obtained when your total reaches 100,000G. It usually is not one of the first Notes that you will receive but it may not be the last either. 100. Meek Heart Note You will receive this note when you have all 99 Notes. Actually, it is a Note from Jamie, given to you in the presence of the Harvest Goddess. You must go to the Harvest Goddess Spring when you have 99 Notes to experience an event with the Harvest Goddess and Jamie. The game will not end, however, so there is no need to delay the visit! credit go's to Frayashawk ATT Edit: Made it smaller. This message was edited by apple_tree_Three(moderator) on Jun 06 2006.
