Ixi Chieftain in the Abandoned Mines

My son beat the Ixi Chieftain for the second time in the Abandoned Mines and went off to work on other parts of the game. But his quest shows that he still needs to free Cogham village. He has gone back into the abandoned mines to where the Chieftain battle was; the Chieftain is gone although the words prior to the battle still show up...and the cage is still hanging with the Mayor(?) in it. But he can't seem to do anything...there are no rocks close enough to jump onto...no hooks that we can see to fire the rope gun at...he is literally stuck on an island in the middle of the lava. Anyone have any idea on what we are missing here?

Hmmm... See If when you return to Cogham you get the Heroes Cloak. If not, it seems to be a glitch because you automatically save the mayor when you beat the Ixi Cheiftain...

u dont get the cape in act 1. u get it in act 3. and fyi its a cloak, not a cape. typo typo typo

F*** i cant get the F*** outta the lava place!!! i need some cheat code! I AM STUCK I SAVED ON THE ROCK WHERE YOU FIGHT THE GUY OKAY? i already killed him! and it still shows when he talks but he isnt there ergo i cant kill him which will makethe rock fall down into the lava for me to get da F*** outta there any ideas how da f*** i get da f*** outta ka f****** there????????
