Having just finished FF2, I dove right into FF3 and I have to say I am VERY impressed.

The graphics, but also how this new character is FAST.
Can´t believe how swiftly she runs, compared to Mio.
Only played like 3 minutes so far because I´m still just testing the waters (haven´t even got a camera yet).

My question is:

Is there any relation between this latest and the previous instalments?
Anythings or advices I should know before I start actually playing?

I played it a bit more, up to the part where the first ghost appears and if at first I wqas surprised at how the main lead moves, now I´m scared at how fast her oponents run.

I have no prob with fast ghost per se (hey, I´m good at getting them zero shots ) ) but if I am to battle them, I want lots of room to manoeuver.

FF2 was just ridiculous in that aspect, I found myself literaly fighting ghosts inside box-sized rooms.

Hahaha, I remember one game magazine describing Miku's run as an "anemic shuffle".

Rei's run was the most painful to watch, imo. It was especially annoying that she ran so fast in this early scene, yet during actual gameplay her fastest movement was an awkward limp. >_>

And Kei's run wasn't much better. He was meant to be the "big, manly man" of the series, yet he had the exact same controls as Rei. It's like the makers didn't even bother changing the characters' movements - They just slapped the same controls on three completely different looking characters and hoped nobody would notice. As mentioned here, that was one of my biggest gripes in FFIII. If you're going for the multiple character route, then at least make them feel different.
