Battlestations: Midway Sails Towards Release

Australia, January 17, 2007 - After our hands-on preview several weeks ago, Bennett walked away with a big honking grin on his face. Finally, we have a firm local release date for this highly anticipated strategy title. Battlestations: Midway will be released in Australia and New Zealand on February 16, 2007 on Xbox 360 and PC.

The game brings to life the epic naval battles of World War II from Pearl Harbour to the Battle of Midway itself. Featuring an innovative blend of action and real-time strategy gameplay, players can instantly switch between every vehicle under their command throughout the course of any battle.

The single player mode features 11 large-scale campaigns with 12 bonus challenge missions, while the online multi-player combat offers an entirely new online battle experience with head-to-head and co-operative style gameplay with battles boasting over 100 units.

2007 marks the 65th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, the single most decisive naval battle in US history, which served as a turning point of World War II.

Battlestations Midway will be released on February 16, 2007 in Australia and New Zealand on Xbox 360 and PC. Keep an eye out for IGN's review in the coming weeks.

This game sounds good, and a little like ww2 has taken a bf2 pill, but bf2 is a great game, hopefully by then I'll have my new system so I can play it.
