Strategy

I like the strategy stages of this game. I have heard people say that they are just downgraded versions of other existing strategy games. So, I figured I might want to try out some strategy games to see if I like them. Can anyone come up with some good strategy games? I know there are tons of genres of strategy games, so organize them based on the genre if you have a bunch of different genres in your answer. I won't get mad if you don't organize it, but it would be nice to do so if you could.

If you are new to strategy, check out older games first. You can ussually find some in the bargenbin for huge discounts, and if you havent played it, it's new to you, right?

Not only can you save huge amounts of money, since people have been playing it for a while there are tons of tips and walkthroughs on the net if you need some help.

Real Time Stratagies are a lot of fun, but if you really never tried one before spore you might want to start with Turn based. Realtime can get overwhelming.

Age of Empires is a great series, I'd recommend starting at the first and then getting the second and third after. Age of Mythology is also good (it's made by the same company), but it's so similar in some aspects that instead of enjoying it, it simply makes me want to play AoE instead.
