help me PLEASE!!

Hi, I have been playing cm97/98 ever since it came ou as a new game and I love the game i have bought the newer versions and occasionally play them but this one has always been the best. i love it.

now to the problem - I recently bought a laptop at the start of this year a Dell Inspiron 9400 I have been trying to load the game on my laptop and its not working properly. this is obviously very annoying and upsetting as it is easily the best game i have ever played. The problem is, the game loads on perfectly but the colours are all over the place and it makes it impossible to play, i have tried using the compatibility wizard and stuff like that and all the fairly simple things i can think of but nothing has worked. Please if anyone has any ideas I would be more grateful than I could say if somebody could tell me how to get around this problem. someone i spoke to suggested my graphics card may be too good for the game but i have no idea about that, please help me.

I hope to hear from you soon.

re: help me PLEASE!!

CM 97/98 does not perform well in windows xp.

What I suggest you do is try to play it outside of the operating system you have. It may seem like a lot of work but it is definately worth it.

You'll have to create a FAT or FAT32 drive on your machine, then create a boot USB key so that you can launch CM 97/98 from the command line in dos.

The game is designed for DOS use, so if you run it from there it'll work perfectly. You'll need to get yourself some mouse drivers as well, and install them before you launch the game (I have created a batch file which installs the drivers and changes to the correct directory and runs the game - all I need to do is type CM )

If you need further assistance you can email me at the above address.
