Log in to remove this sponsored message My son is having a problem getting his new gen 5 ipod to connect to our computer. his old gen 4 quit working,but before it did he had problems with it connecting.He has itunes 7.0 or something to that effect. Anyway here is what the popup box says when he tries to connect to the computer. (one of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem,click the message). Also we just tried connecting to another computer with itunes 7.0 and also recieved the same message as above. could it be that the old and new usb cables are bad?  | |

You need to register the ipod to your computer. Thats why it said it didn't recognize it.
