	Log in to remove this sponsored message hello and thanks in advance for whatever help and advice any forum readers might be able to provide. i just purchased a used ipod from ebay and am having problems figuring out... well everything! unfortunately the unit didn't come supplied with either a data-cable, nor a charger (and the battery was flat upon receipt). consequenly, i tried the local best-buy here in canada, purchasing a usb charger - which wouldn't work uopn getting it home. took that back, tried another usb model... nothing. they then tried a 'firewire' charger they had instore, and lo-and-behold, it began charging. they THEN told me that they don't actually sell these items and apple no longer even make them! i checked online upon (again) getting home and it seems apple DO infact still stock and supply firewall chargers... but now i'm just baffled that's what i need right? and what about a data cable for transferring songs? and is all this windows xp compatible? HELP!! cheers for any help.

	If you have a firewire port on your computer, then you should be able to remove the wire from the firewire charger and use that to transfer songs from your computer to your iPod. -------------------

	cheers mate. but regards the original post, it 'IS' the firewire connector i need isn't it? as that's the only way to charge/transfer data with a 3rd generation ipod? i don't believe a word the sales staff at best-buy say tbh, having now akready bought and returned 2 power adapters. thank you.

	I'm not sure about charging the iPod, but an Apple USB cable can be used to transfer data. -------------------
