Angry Birds developer Rovio Mobile has a new game in the works. It's based off of the iOS game Casey's Contraptions, an intellectual property Rovio purchased recently. The game is titled Amazing Alex and stars a curious young boy who loves to build things.
In an interview with Finnish television channel YLE, Rovio CEO Mikael Hed promised the same quality standard fans have come to expect from Angry Birds:
"The quality pressure is high. We want to maintain the high standard Angry Birds fans have come to enjoy."
Casey's Contraptions, released just more than a year ago, focuses on building Rube Goldberg-esque machines to complete various tasks. Tools such as balloons, scissors, shelves, RC trucks, magnets and pinball bumpers are used to collect stars placed on the screen. To see the game in action look below -- keep in mind this is footage of Casey's Contraptions and not the just announced Amazing Alex.
If you look at the logo above, you'll notice there are similarly shaped stars as to those in Casey. It'd be a safe bet to assume the two games will be very similar in gameplay, though perhaps Rovio might bring in some killer Angry Birds level/puzzle design. Expect to hear more Amazing Alex news as it breaks!
