Now I'm thinking about getting an iPhone 3G, because I've seen one for under $90. I'm wondering, can I use an iPhone for apps and music just like an iPod Touch, without using it as a phone? And also, will a 3G iPhone be compatible with all the latest apps? (I'm basically buying an iTouch for the apps, if it can't be compatible I might as well stick with my mp3. -------------------

	You can use an iPhone 3G as an ipod touch if you don't have a SIM card. As-long as it is activated. However some of the apps may not work because of software issues. 	zzSilencezz, is that in the US? I know here in Australia that you don't have to be locked into a contract if an iPhone is purchased outright, a pay as you go sim card works fine too. As for the application use, I was under the impression that the iPod Touch applications could still be used with an iPhone 3G or later without a problem still. I don't think the update has affected this, and after doing several searches, I couldn't find anything that stated otherwise. 	I believe LOD-squa has it right in that as long as the phone has been activated it should be fine. However, when it comes to buying used iPhones give it a test before you hand over the money. Make sure all the buttons work, the headphone jack and speaker work, the touchscreen is responsive, etc. -------------------

	Yes sir. The only thing you can't do without a SIM card is the obvious make phone calls/use the Internet without wifi. 	I strongly recommend you to get at least an iPod Touch if one of your purposes is to run the latest apps. The last iOS Firmware supported by the iPhone 3G is 4.2.1. You are missing a lot if you can't upgrade to iOS 5.0. -------------------
