	Log in to remove this sponsored message Know someone that dropped their 3G and now the screen will not turn on. You can still hear it receive texts and you can turn it on only because it's easy to guess where slide bar is. However, you can't see anything. Screen looks exactly like it does when phone is off. Any help appreciated. Thanks!!! ------------------- Membership has its privileges. Do you have what it takes?

	It's probably just a lose connector. It's best to bring it to your local phone shop to let them check. Replacing a screen over here costs you around 20 euro (18 USD from the top of my head). -------------------

	Thanks, I did call local cell phone repair shop and they suggested it was one of two things: 1. Lose ribbon which would cost $25 to re-connect 2. Bad LCD screen which would cost $80 to replace Hopefully just the connection... ------------------- Membership has its privileges. Do you have what it takes?

	Wow, 80$ is pretty steep... I can't imagine it being that high, considering all the parts in the phone are around $127 for everything. That is excluding the software and marketing costs (which is why the iPhone is so expensive) and accounting that the screen is the most expensive part... but $80.. you might want to check another shop as well... -------------------

	Nope, the LCD's on ebay go for that much. Its basically the most expensive part of the phone. Digitizers and other stuff was way cheaper than it. If you're good at opening electronics, and want to try it out for yourself start watching videos and tutorials. 	If you've ever repaired or opened up an electronic device, repairing it will be easy. Here is the LCG screen. It's complete with the digitizer and all. It shouldn't be a problem to replace. Specially when there's videos out there like LOD-Squa mentioned.

	Yeah the LED backlight is unplugged I bet. Hold it up to direct sun light and see if the screen is on but there's nothing illuminating it. -------------------
