Best apps for iPhone?

Hi guys,

Had my iPhone for a month or so now. Best purchase of the year so far. I feel like I'm not utilising my iPhone though. I use it for basic phone calls, texting, web browsing and mp3 player. I've got a few apps on it just for messing about but I'd like anyone to recommend the most useful or enjoyable apps.

Yeah, depends what you want as apps. Looking for games? Entertainment? Or useful tools? I'll give you a few apps which are hella useful for whenever you need them.

myLite. Basically acts like a flashlight you can use, put on a white background(max the brightness if you wish) and it can do you good.

Factbook. Surf over the globe and track down countries and learn info about them. Great app.

Translator. Says it itself.

Fluid. Got photos on your iPhone? This is a program which makes the screen all 'watery', as if you were looking at an ocean. The default background is a bunch of lake stones, you can change it to any photo you like. Press anywhere on the screen to make the water twirl and swirl and dip and whatever you wish. Not really "useful" so to speak, but it's one of my personal favorites.

Weird laws. Bunch of random American weird laws you can enjoy on the go. Fun when you're trying to kill time.

PayPal. Speaks for itself.

ZumoDrive. Can take music, photos, and documents saved on your computer everywhere with you.

9-Toolbox. This is pretty much the most useful on my list of apps. It's an app which does 9 things at once, you can either calcuate current dollar value/currency(kept up to date as much as possible), unit converter, inclinometer, tip calcuator(for restaurants, haha), holiday reminder, date calculator(calcuates the number of days between X day and X day), and you can even check when your girlfriend's next period occurs(approx) with the My Girl's Day option. And there's other things it does, but I've just named the seven which interest me the most.

Flixster Movies. Known by many, an app which offers info on upcoming movies, shows trailers, movie reviews, etc.

Lose It. App which approximately tells you what to do/how to do to lose weight. It calculates the number of calories you'll eat and whatnot. Sweet shit(dunno why I put that tbh, I've been on cardio for a while and stopped as I'm quite satisfied of my current weight.. bad timing )

iThesaurus. Once again, speaks for itself.


As for games, well that's moreso personal preference which is why I haven't listed many. But take what you wish and enjoy.

Ipity - a Mr T quote generator with sound bytes

Tap Tap Revenge 2 - a free guitar hero type game with licensed track, makes the most out of the shake controls as well

I have an ipod touch, but here are a few of my favorite apps:

Games:
KittyKannon You launch a cat out of a canon hitting objects that stop you or speed you up and you see how far you can go.

Moonlight: Its Mahjong. Pretty fun.

Sol Free: Has regular solitaire, Demon, Spider, and Bakers game. Not sure if it has the correct name for everything, but I play it constantly.

Pocket God: you control a few islanders and can kill them in funny ways and do random shit to them. Its a good time killer when you have nothing else to do.

Pac-Man.

FS5 Hockey: single and 2 player air hockey.



Cool Facts: Has a few thousand 'cool' facts. Some are cool, some I already knew.

BlueSocket: If your on a campus wifi network (or anything like that), it lets you log in with a push of a button instead of going through the webpage.

pointless cause you can save jpegs of plain white or any color pictures on your phone and use that when you want a light. the only thing myLite has over that is strobe but when would you ever need a strobe? at least its free cause you have to be pretty stupid to pay for a flashlight app.

I have myLite on my ipod, but I havnt used it in a while. I've just found its easier to open up the Settings because thats white enough that it works as a light. And if I need it brighter, I'm just one touch away from the brightness setting to raise it up a little.

Yeah but then again.. who the hell is gonna go through that hassle? It's pretty much the fact those flashlight apps are free which justifies them. Though I think I've seen one through the app store which cost 99 cents.. ridiculous, lol. (Unless it had something more to it.)

Anyway, I got this app lately called uDrummer. It's pretty much an app where you play drums on the screen. Shows the entire drum set and all, and you can switch between four sets(acoustic drum, electric drum, mini drum and thumb drum) as well as toggling sound genre.

The coolest thing about this though is playing the drums while hearing a song on your iTouch at the same time. So you're listening to one of your favorite songs while sort of remixing it, haha.
