Ads on the Wikis?

Log in to remove this advertisement While using Google Chrome 2 and Safari 4 (beta) I get no ads, but while on FireFox I get ads at the top of the page. Just my opinion (and a few others) but ads don't work well on wikis and make them look like shit :/  quick edit: wtf...they seem to ONLY display on the METROID wiki ------------------- | |

We can't put the ads above the search, those ads are far too huge to fit there
.The original plan was to have the ads push down the entire bar (eg show up above the Page, Edit, History tabs) but that was harder to achieve reliably and looked even uglier depending on your resolution. ------------------- The further back you can look, the farther ahead you can see. <paraphrased> - Winston Churchill | |

I really meant just below the toolbox, not the navigation box. Also, I have seen ads on other sites that are only like 150 x 150 pixels or something. Surely something like that would work? Because when I see intrusive/in-your-face ads when visiting sites, it doesn't give me a good impression and sometimes makes me want to leave... Not that that single banner ad at the top is all that terrible, but I think a subtler spot would be much more appealing visually.
The problem is though, smaller, subtler ads don't pay as much... ------------------- | |
